  • Yes, ever since my husband passed away for some strange reason my thoughts fall on two subjects; Mary and the Precious Blood of Christ.

Today while meditating this morning, I kept thinking of our poor Protestants who miss out so much, they skip over such important issues, and want to go right to Jesus Christ, in short they want to take a short cut.  But can they?

Getting back to my point of the Precious Blood of Christ and trying to realize how important a devotion should be to His Precious Blood.  It occurred to me how His Mother was close, her blood and His blood.  I found this on the Internet.

    Quote
Christ's blood is the price of salvation, the very life of the New and Everlasting Covenant. As we approach Christmas, it is worth asking whether Christ's precious blood ever mixed with Mary's or coursed through her veins.

First, let's examine an unborn baby's circulatory system.

In the way that God designed things, the blood of an unborn infant and that of the mother do not typically mix in utero. The baby's heart pushes his or her blood through his or her body, through the umbilical cord and to the placenta, but not beyond that. There is a membrane that separates the baby's blood from the mother's blood. Nutrients, oxygen, and waste are transferred through this membrane.

All that being said, the baby's blood and mother's blood does typically mix during birth. Usually, it's the child blood that enters the mother's blood. This is why couples with RH incompatibility are at risk since a mother's body can learn to attack incompatible blood.

So all that being said, it is almost certain that Christ's redemptive blood coursed through the veins of the Blessed Mother. Just in case you weren't 100% convinced of our Lady's prerogatives, here is one more subtle way in which Christ "honored His mother" in fulfillment of the Law.

    Please pray for my soul.

  • Oh Myrna!  My family priest was of the confraternity of the Precious Blood.  I am read a book that I down loaded by Father Walz, "Why is Thy Apparel Red".  It is so good.  Also, Fr. Nageleisen of the Precious Blood, wrote, Charity for the Suffering Souls by Tan publishers.  Fr. Faber -The Precious Blood by TAN and a book similar to "Why is Thy Apparel Red" is The Glories of the Precious Blood by TAN as well.  All are good reading. There is alot to learn of the powers and special indulgences of the Precious Blood.  There are mysteries, very good and very important.  There is a chapter on suffering in the Glories of the Precious Blood.  I prefer reading Fr. Walz'z original.  My Great-great Uncle is Fr. Rudolph Stoltz.  I visited the seminary in 2000, at Carthegena, OH next to Maria Stein Relics. There is a museum there as well. Sad to say, they went New Order in 1967.

  • The founder of the Precious Blood is St Gaspar del Bufalo.  Pope Pius X beatified him Dec. 18 1904.  He is known as the"Trumpet of the Precious Blood".  Nuns are known as the Adorers of the Precious Blood. Devotion to the Precious Blood is the weapon of our times.(Apocalypse)  July 1st is the feast of the Precious Blood.  One of the first feast days removed during John the 23rd.  There is a beautiful picture of Our Lady and her Son holding the Precious Blood in the Chalice via the computer. There are also letters of St. Gaspar on line that I read while he was in exile.

  • Thank you Michaela, I like to think he is in Heaven, just prior to his death he did receive the last sacraments and the APOSTOLIC BLESSING, which when prompted by the priest he said the holy name of Jesus.  He was also resigned to God's Will and said so often.

He and I met on Christmas Day 55 years ago, so he was very much a part of my life, and forgive me for constantly talking about him here.

A few days ago, while listening to a Christmas song, titled "Mary did you know" and thinking of the words, I wanted to hear it again and again so I googled and found it, but I also found another song that I feel was meant for me.  If you care to listen a few moments, listen hears.

    There might be a ad, that you can skip to the song;

    Please pray for my soul.

  • Oh Myrna, that is a most beautiful song.  I will keep you and your husband of 55 years in my prayers and masses. We, as couples, pray for many years of marriage. And in purgatory they all pray for us. How consoling that is.

PS We Irish have a name for our soulmates... Anam Cara. The old belief is that when Our Father made you, He made your one true love out of the same clay...and you go your whole life searching your other half out!! It looks like you found yours.. and that is a special thing!!
(Please no bashing comments.. it is an old Celtic belief, I know.. but it is still beautiful!)  :scared2:

  • I remember how difficult my first Christmas without my wife was.  You have my deepest sympathies and prayers for your consolation and the repose of your husband's soul.
