The worship and excuses given for the above guy on this board sickens me. I expect it from the talking heads on fox news or brain dead Penn state students.

I doubt Joe PA is in purgatory. I am not God, but I think justice would deserve a hotter place.

There is no good excuse for the rampant idolatry of these sports celebrities.  

  In situations such as these, hundreds of people know what is going on, in greater or lesser degrees.  It would have been a 100% corrupt environment.  Nepotism, drugs, theft, bribes, blackmail, booze, porn, adult prostitutes, gambling, 'the whole nine yards'.

This is an example of why observers compare this culture with ancient Rome.

Are the media talking heads discussing child rings in Beaver Pennsylvaia and upstate PA linked to charities?

Are they mentioning that the PSU President was a degenerate who wrote his thesis on topics pertaining to sɛҳuąƖ degeneracy, and the fact he was a Jєω like Sandusky?

Joe Pa did all that was expercted of him. He was not a peace officer or could make arrests.  He was told of the incident and  He turned Sandusky into campus police authorites and his direct supervisor.

The decision was made to deal with this quietly at the HIGHEST Levels-for better for worse. (worse)

The Church and ѕуηαgσgυєs deal with these issues the same way, quietly, so as not to scandalize other parties.
Personally, Id like to see Sandusky mocked, shamed, Castrated and/or facing a death squad,  and waterboard him to get the names of all involved in the ring.

Paterno did all that was expected of him by whom?  Certainly not Our Lord, who had some very harsh things to say about people who hurt children.  Something about a millstone, as I recall.  

If I knew a child was being raped, and reported it to children's services, and they did nothing, I would call the police,  Or a reporter.  The point is, I would not stop after one attempt and congratulate myself for doing my duty.  No even marginally decent person would.  

Joe Paterno was an idolator, plain and simple.  He worshiped a sport above protecting the violated bodies of raped children.  So do the people who continue to heap praise on him.

Sedetrad works with people like Sandusky for a living.  I expect he is also very familiar with the secondary evil practiced to protect them by people who, for whatever reason, prefer some idol to the safety of children.  As far as I know, no one else on this forum has this background.  Maybe we should listen to him.  

I am going to bow out of this thread. There is nothing I can say that will change the minds of the Joe pa idolaters. I am not going to rant for about the evils of pro sports idolatry in this country.  Elizabeth is quite correct on the knowledge that a person like Joe pa would have. Joe Pa will answer for EVERY RAPED CHILD in JUDGEMENT BEFORE GOD!

My husband is a Penn State grad.  He graduated in 1986, when Penn State was on the top of the world and JoePa was king.

Let me give you his insight.

JoePa was treated like a god.  Penn State was (and still is) all about the football.  

The whole huge town of State College is all about Penn State as an institution.

I don't know if you can really, really comprehend what this means.  The town is the university, the university is the town.  

Penn State stayed on top until about 1995--my husband noted about the time Jerry Sandusky began committing his heinous crimes ON CAMPUS.  Before this, he committed his crimes in his home basement or motel rooms.  

JoePa "knew" what was going on just like wives "know" when their husband is molesting their children.  They "know" but they avoid the reality.  Because when you actually acknowledge the truth, you MUST do something about it.  

For JoePa all of the 90s and 2000s was getting PennState back to what it once was--on top of the world.  It was NEVER going to happen, because God will just not allow this.

Yes, JoePa was a Catholic.  He was a Catholic like that generation of Catholics.  They loved the Church and hated it at the same time.  It was the Church of their ancestors, but not something they would have chosen for themselves.  That generation, the so-called "greatest" generation all sold their souls and abandoned their faith to roll and relish in the their own material successes.  It was and is purely diabolical.

This was JoePa.  He was a prideful, arrogant man.  He WAS Penn State football.  He purposely turned the other way, yes, until he was confronted with the reality of it.  Then he did what little he had to do to alleviate his conscience purely because he didn't want to damage Penn State Football.  

It's sad and sinful, but absolutely NOTHING like that pig Sandusky.  Period.

Jerry Sandusky's father was also a pig.  He started a program back in the 30s and 40s for "underprivileged" boys.  He had a community center or something that offered sports programs for them.  People who knew Jerry in grammar school and high school said he was a quiet boy.  He didn't have any friends and he didn't have a girl friend, but he was really into sports.  He was probably abused by his father as well, as were probably these other boys.

This wickedness is passed from generation to generation. We must stop labeling this as "sickness" or "bad brain wiring."  As long as we call it those things, these perverts will gain sympathy for bad genetic luck or bad parents.  Instead, we MUST call it what it is--DIABOLICAL.  (the ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs did this as part of their plan to normalize sodomite behavior and lifestyle in the 80s and it worked.)

Jerry Sandusky should receive the death penalty.  It would be justice.  He has sodomized so many young children.  And that is a SIN that cries out to heaven for VENGEANCE!  

Joe Pa's pride prevented him from taking real action and doing anything to save future young boys from this pervert.  I am certain that he is answering to Our Lord Almighty for that.  His days in Purgatory may be long and particularly painful.  As Catholics, we should PRAY for him.  

Jerry Sandusky's fate is another story.  While there is always a chance for him to repent of of wickedness and save his soul, there are still temporal punishments to face.  Because of the nature of his sin and crimes, he should be executed.  It would be justice.  It would prevent him from committing other similar acts.  It would be merciful to the victims he left behind by bringing them some hope that crimes of this nature are punished.  It would be merciful to Jerry Sandusky by ending this struggle he has with sins of the flesh that he cannot overcome.  It would also be an example to other men who commit crimes of this nature.

I agree about JoPa's role and culpability in all this. I've been saying from the beginning it was all about him protecting the "Institution". But now he can explain that to an Almighty, Righteous God and the souls of Sandusky's victims that cry out for justice, I wouldn't want to be Paterno.

I also stand by Sandusky should be publicly beheaded.

A man has come forward alleging he saw Jerry Sandusky and a prominent Penn State University donor sɛҳuąƖly abusing two boys together aboard a private plane, it was claimed on Monday.
The FBI is reportedly taking the accusations 'seriously,' and has opened an investigation into a pedophile sex ring that could spread well beyond the former Penn State football coach.
The newest allegations, if proven true, could indicate that the sɛҳuąƖ abuse of young boys was even more widespread and more horrific than initially thought.
RadarOnline.com reports that the witness, who has business ties to the booster, told postal inspectors and the FBI that he was aboard the private plane when the alleged abuse occurred.
He said he remained silent about what he saw until now and does not know whether the boys are new victims or if they have already been identified as having been abused by the former defensive coordinator.
'If the Feds can prove what this witness is saying then a sickening situation just got worse,' an anonymous source told Radar.
'The witness does not know who the boys are and if they were from Sandusky's Second Mile charity. He can prove his tie to the booster but the Feds are going to have to prove the rest.'
Federal investigators are currently working to verify the man's story, which reportedly included specific information like times and places.
The source said investigators were starting with the known victims because the eyewitness didn't know who the boys were.

The news comes a little over a month after Sandusky, 68, was convicted on 45 counts of child sɛҳuąƖ abuse for molesting 10 boys over the course of 15 years.
The United States Postal Inspectors office in hαɾɾιsburg, Pennsylvania, has spearheaded the investigation because pornographic materials involving underage boys have allegedly been sent through the mail.




Analyzing a computer seized from Sandusky, investigators are also looking into whether he sent ‘seductive letters’ across state lines for sɛҳuąƖ purposes, according to CBS. Some of these letters were said to be sent to some of his victims.
‘The investigation is in its early stages,’ the source added. ‘They have not yet cast a wide net but it is ongoing and it is serious.’
Sandusky is expected to be sentenced to a life in prison for sɛҳuąƖly abusing underage boys. Many of the victims came from the Second Mile charity, which Sandusky founded in 1977 to help troubled youth.
Penn State representatives were not immediately available to comment on the investigation.
Meanwhile, a status conference has been scheduled for September 7 in a Pennsylvania courtroom as Second Mile seeks to shut down and transfer its assets.
Sandusky’s charity is hoping to give its assets to Houston-based Arrow Child & Family Ministries Inc., but lawyers for some of the child abuse victims have objected.
With Sandusky facing 442 years in prison, his legal team has raised an argument about the disgraced ex-Penn State football coach’s speedy trial that may become the thrust of an appeal.
