  • Proposition 5 of Lamentabili Sane (The Syllabus of Errors) issued under Pope St. Pius X reads as follows: "Since the Deposit of Faith contains only revealed truths, the Church has no right to pass judgment on the assertions of the human sciences."  This is good to keep in mind as the world never tires of telling the Church to shut up when it comes to science.

It may well be that during that relatively brief, but glorious reign of the Immaculate Heart of Mary following the Consecration of Russia, the Church will most clearly and stronngly assert the falsity of heliocentricity, Big Bang, and multiverse among other things so that Christians may be be brought to a unity of belief on these matters.

  • It is interesting to compare St. "To Restore all things in Christ" Pius X's stand up Catholicism as seen in Lamentabili Sane #5 where the Church's right to pass judgment on the assertions of human sciences is upheld with declared St John Paul II seeming implied deference to science as in the Galileo affair.:  http://www.nytimes.com/1992/11/01/world/vatican-science-panel-told-by-pope-galileo-was-right.html
