A video I put together. The photographs are from Kilmainham Gaol in Dublin where Irish patriots were executed in 1916.

Joseph Mary Plunkett was influential in Grace Gifford converting to Catholicism. They married a few hours before he was executed in 1916. She was later imprisoned there. She painted the picture of the Blessed Virgin and the Christ Child

The cross marks the location where the men were shot by the English firing squad.

At the opposite end of the Stonebreakers' Yard of the Gaol, the dying James Connolly was brought through the gate and executed in the place marked by the black cross. Connolly was propped up in a chair and shot by the firing squad.
