I joined FishEaters a few weeks ago with the sole purpose of keeping in touch with some people I became friends with on another Trad forum that is now closed (and no, I'm not talking about AQ, I never posted there). After seeing a surprising amount of supporters of the other three Bishops and even sedevacantists there, I thought that maybe, just maybe, FE wasn't so bad afterall, or that it had at least changed. That is, until I read this post from Vox:
I'm not a liberal, am very paleocon (a monarchist to boot), believe in patriarchy, etc., etc., and do NOT want rancorous crap on my forum. I don't see the point of needlessly inflammatory language except to express anger, and that's not what this forum's for (read the rules).
I also don't want people who struggle with ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ feelings to be treated badly here. I won't have it. CUT IT OUT NOW! The next person that disses someone for having ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ inclinations or for defending (as I would) against those who speak intemperately about ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs or ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity, or the next person who pulls an ad hominem by arguing against a person who's ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ or who defends against the aforementioned stuff by using someone's ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ inclinations against him in an argument (or AS an argument), will be banned. And forever. I'm sick of this stuff!
Someone basically refered to a lesbian as a "dyke" and drew some heat from a few libs. He then said he changed the thread title to please the politically-correct libs, then Vox chimed in. There was also someone else on that thread defending gαys.
I told Vox she was wrong and then volunteered to be banned. So I guess it's only a matter of time before I join the list of those who have received the badge of honor of being banned from FE.
Sorry SpiritusSanctus, but this attitude is just immature. What the admin asked was absolutely reasonable. I consider a thread like this as borderline slanderous.
Hi TraditionalTom. On what basis was she right?
I don't think she's being charitable, based on what i know about that forum. Given the nature of public scandal that is well known about the forum owner, its probably false charity at bestthough I can see how one might think that. I don't go to that forum, but from her post it seems as if people have made public these inclinations to sin. I have a very close trad friend who has unnatural lust ('ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ feelings") too. But he doesn't speak about this in public. I only know about it because we became traditional Catholics together many years ago. Other than that its between his father confessor and him.
Hello s2,
I don't see any reason why a traditional, faithful Catholic cannot agree with her rule. She clearly explains that on her forum, making fun of faithful Catholics who must struggle with the cross of same-sex attraction is not tolerated. And rightly so. That is basic Christian charity. Especially if they are trying their best to live faithfully and chaste.
I wish traditional Catholics on the Internet (and I've noticed it's most common on this forum in particular) would stop this uncharitable, unchristian behaviour towards other Catholics. It's an embarrassment. Honestly. We are called as Christians to live by His commandments, yet the amount of gossip and slander that goes on on these "traditional Catholic" forums is sometimes even worse than their atheist counterparts.
Who even cares about the past life of the Fish-Eaters admin? How is that relevant
at all? Don't some of you people have better things to do in life, like growing in personal holiness yourself, going to that extra Mass, studying the faith or working?
I'm going to be blunt and honest, because I am at service to the Truth. It's threads like these that put off countless faithful Catholics from joining in on discussion.
