Best thread I've seen in weeks.

    Graham,

Hope to see more of you on Catholic Info.

From my memories of you on IA, you're a great contributor and member.

Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi

There are so many things that I find objectionable on this forum that I can no longer remain here in good conscience.  I do not want my name associated with it.

What is the procedure to have my membership ended?  Matthew, please ban me if that is what is required.

    God bless you all.

Why not PM Matthew instead of opening a public thread?

Because I wish to be publicly disassociated from this forum.

Rediculous.  This is just drawing more attention to yourself on which you thrive.  I wouldn't expect any other course for a liberal drama queen's farewell though.

Peace, love, and good riddance to you hippie flower-child.

  • Just started reading all this stuff!
Just read OHCA's post.  No matter what you think of Jaynek, OHCA, that is crude & rude & unbecoming of a Catholic - no matter what stripe.  If you don't apologize, then I will, that that nastiness ever saw the light of day.
I'm truly sorry, Jaynek, & please remember that this is only a tiny few trad Catholics.  This absolutely does not represent the majority of the trads.

I love the Catholic Church and her traditions.  That does not change when I see unpleasant behaviour from trads. If the only nastiness here were that which has been directed at me, I would probably just ignore it.  Unfortunately it is pervasive throughout the forum.

Thank you, Thorn, for your kindness.

I'm glad you pointed that out for her.  I am quite certain that she has no firsthand point of reference.

  • Jaynek, compare the membership index with the number of members who behave badly.  You'll find they make a very tiny percentage.  Since they will not apologise, I add mine to OHCA's.
Better yet, if someone's post is bad, why not point it out to them in a charitable manner?  Many nowadays have no social skills because there were no good examples to follow.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • People would be a much more charitable if Matthew insisted they at least use their real first name.  There is something about your name on the Internet, that keeps you honest.

The rude people here seem to forget that God can see right past that moniker of yours.

Let me take this opportunity to apologize for any rudeness, I try to be kind, but I am not perfect.
    Please pray for my soul.

Don't be so sure Myrna.  There are many people who go out of their way to be vicious, first name or not.

It may keep one more charitable, (hopefully, we're all honest), but it also has its disadvantages.  Look at what happened with Sean Johnson.  Have you seen him post lately?

  • Dear Jayne,

Thanks for answering my question. I just got back to it.

Your short and sweet answer did not surprise me. Yes, things have taken a downturn here, charitywise. But a few charitable souls have already given you their 2c.

Now why not get into practice for the real persecution? As Santa Teresa would say to her sisters: Be a man! (or something to that effect).

BTW, I don't see how you can be a drama queen because drama queens like centre stage and I hardly ever see your posts. In fact I think you came back fairly recently after an absence, no?

Why not have a go at correcting those at fault?

Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.

A friend of mine always quotes Saint Teresa on this subject.  I believe her words were:  "We need virile souls"!

No, wait a minute, strike that.

    I was thinking 'puerile'.
