If a couple purposely does the marital act on her "infertile" days that's birth control, isn't it? Or is there a correct way to use nfp? Also, I read that NFP can only be used under grave or serious circuмstances and that the couple must first get permission from their priest. Is this true?http://www.traditioninaction.org/Cultural/E037_nfp.htmhttp://www.traditioninaction.org/religious/k021pNFP.html

And, yes, of course it is birth control. Anything you do to remove procreation from the marital act is birth control. One of the things I like about Father Chazal is that he strongly condemns the use of Natural Birth Control without grave reason.
Yeah I kinda agree with you. I don't understand how using NFP just so that the women won't get pregnant is ok. (Unless under serious circuмstances of course). Although, some over at CAF say that marriage is "to procreate AND to unite the man and women" therefore, to me at least, they seem to be saying that it is okay to do...
Another concession to Liberalism was Pope Pius Xli's compromise on the matter of "family planning." He laid out certain circuмstances under which "rhythm," (the spacing of marital intercourse for the sake of the avoidance of conception) was not sinful. This concession he publicized in the memorable Allocution to Italian Midwives in 1952. As a disparity of religion undermines the faith of Catholic spouses and their offspring, and the marriage bond, this artifice undermines marital chastity and the spirit of trust in God. Any act or non-act which is positively contrary to the natural and supernatural relationship between husband and wife, and the primary purpose of marriage, which is the procreation of children, is objectionable. Moreover, instead of solving an imaginary problem for the couple, "rhythm" and all its variants, unfailingly creates an impossible situation for both husband and wife, to say nothing of putting them both in the state of sin.
