Apparently there are some who mistakenly believe that Pius X smoked tobacco. Aside from the phoney NYT article that has been posted here in the past, could some evidence of this be provided?   :smoke-pot:

It's not a mortal sin. It's not even sinful. Is it really serious matter? According to that logic, every time I jump out of a plane (parachuting) I am endangering my life, that is also a mortal sin. God gave us freedom. Let's not turn religion into a moral theology class.

Some opposed his beatification/canonization precisely because it was well known that he smoked cigars. The sane men in Rome shot down said opposition as so much nonsense.  Go browse the Acta Apostolicae Sedis, roscoe.
