I presume we all know about the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary?

Today, across the world, a virus threatens many living humans. It is a world war like no other.

How many of us, if Pope, would not seek the help of heaven in the best way we could, by enacting the instructions of Our Lady in the hope of divine intervention, rather than closing churches and hiding themselves in the safety of the Vatican.

Why don't Catholics around the world demand that the man who occupuies the Chair of Peter do what he was asked to do in union with all the bishops of the world?

When doing so they can ask God to give us protection against this life threatening killer of the elderly and the sick. God protect us all.
I don't think the coronavirus will cause the consecration.

However, I do think the Warning will cause the consecration.

The bishops have not done as Our Lady asked since 1960. It will require that their consciences be corrected for it to happen. The Warning provides that correction of the worlds' consciences, including the bishops.

It was I who started this thread thinking that this promise of a consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary would solve all the problems of mankind.

Since then I have pondered on this never ending 'solution' of Fatima that is so wrapped up in controversy that maybe it is time to reconsider all the facts involved. My first, and not my last, problem with Fatima came many years ago when I was told the story that Lucia asked the vision about one of her dead friends. The answer, we are told by Lucia; was that she was in Purgatory and would stay there until the end of time.

This of course contradicts Catholic teaching on Purgatory introduced in 1476 by Pope Sixtus IV that we can lesson the time souls spend in Purgatory by prayer and that we can even gain a plenary indulgence that takes a soul out of Purgatory.

I recall as a young altar boy, a group of us used to cycle around churches getting souls out of Purgatory and into heaven. How many millions of such souls have benefited in the following way.

Visit to a Church or Oratory on All Souls Day. PLENARY INDULGENCE. A plenary indulgence, applicable ONLY to the souls in purgatory, may be obtained by those who, on All Souls Day, piously visit a church, public oratory, or for those entitled to use it, a semi-public oratory.  It may be acquired either on the day designated as All Souls Day or, with the consent of the bishop, on the preceding or following Sunday or the feast of All Saints. On visiting the church or oratory it is required that one Our Father and the Creed be recited.

Visit to a Cemetery. Only applicable to the souls in Purgatory when one devoutly visits and prays for the departed. A PLENARY INDULGENCE is bestowed for this work each day between November 1 and November 8

Now can anyone please tell me how the vision, said to be Our Lady from Heaven, could actually tell Lucia that her friend would be in Limbo until the end of time, when the Church of Christ had long shown how to get souls out of Purgatory?

Does the Church infallibly teach that indulgences can be be applied to a specific person of our choosing, guaranteed, with no qualifications? Or is the indulgence applied to an unspecific soul in purgatory which is not made known to us?

Either way, keep praying for poor Amelia and the other souls in Purgatory.

1.  God decides who your prayers/penances are applied to.  2.  There are different levels of suffering in purgatory.  One day spent in the lowest part could be vastly worse than 3 centuries in the upper part.  So just because this girl is said to be there til the end of time, doesn’t mean she’s in the worse spot.
3.  Our Lady told us about the girl’s fate AT THAT TIME.  It doesn’t mean that she couldn’t be released earlier.  In fact, the very reason of Our Lady telling us about this girl is a mercy so that others would pray for her.  Had She not told us, no one would probably think to pray for this girl.

August 6 1945 first atomic bomb on Hiroshima. 75th anniversary. Four priest of the Jesuit order of Our Lady of the Assumption church, survived.

More than a year later, in Plainfield, New Jersey priest Rev. Harold V. Colgan, Pastor of St. Mary's Church had just finished offering a Requiem Mass.  He collapsed at the foot of the altar.  Heart Attack and doctors gave him a few weeks to live.  F. Colgan completely cured, walked from the hospital.  He promised the Blessed Virgin Mary he would spend the rest of his life spreading devotion to Her.  The Blue Army spread to some 25 million persons in 57 nations.

May we help to spread devotion of the Rosary as St. Dominic did, as well.  Prayer is the answer!
