  • There's a thread on "FE", but I don't want to go over there and read about the demise of AQ.

  • AQ seems to be back, though judging by the times of the last posts on the most current threads, there must have been a hiatus. I missed it!

  • AQ died long ago as you can see by this recent thread.

    http://angelqueen.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=40222

There were two substantive replies by one poster longer than one or two lines.

Then the thread is hijacked by an AQ mod and turned into a joke thread.

It then immediately goes downhill from there complete with pictures of Hans Kung, the Archies, the Flintstones, and Animal House. (I'm not kidding. See for yourself)

AQ's registration has been closed for some time, demonstrating they are quite happy with the current crop of jokesters and derailed threads which will continue in perpetuity, thus ensuring AQ will continue to fade into irrelevancy in the Traditional discussion, just as FE has long ago.

Wow, thanks Steve, I didn't know they closed registration, wth?  I knew that place has a giant clique happening but seems pretty outrageous to close out new registrations because of that. Amazing.

  • The pop-culture pictures are part of a parody of the song "Monster Mash" called "Modernist Mash," which is rather brilliant, leaving aside the question about whether these things should be joked about.

But I wouldn't say that thread strikes me as inappropriate and immature as a Fisheaters thread by any stretch of the imagination.  The guy doing the parody is not defending vile pop culture artifacts like "Kick Ass," like that FishEaters guy, but using them to show the degradation of the Novus Ordo, comparing it to Animal House, as a theologically orgiastic pagan mess, which it is.
Readers: Please IGNORE all my postings here. I was a recent convert and fell into errors, even heresy for which hopefully my ignorance excuses. These include rejecting the "rhythm method," rejecting the idea of "implicit faith," and being brieflfy quasi-Jansenist. I also posted occasions of sins and links to occasions of sin, not understanding the concept much at the time, so do not follow my links.

Raoul, no doubt the immaturity at AQ is properly directed at the libs. Thus, AQ is not as pathetically worldly and liberal as FE, I agree.

The problem is that the example thread I posted is endemic to AQ. Often one cannot get a serious discussion going without the resident clowns, a lot of them mods, posting their "brilliant" jokes, leading to more jokes, turning a once promising thread into amateur hour at the AQ comedy club.

Also, even though most of the Queeners are not flaming modernists/ worldings/ feminists/ Neo-Caths like FE, if you so much as utter a peep the mods even perceive as something they don't like, you get knee-jerk perma-banned. I've seen it happen many times there to good solid posters. Now that they have banned all registration, I suppose they will winnow down the remaining members until all that is left is a lock-step unquestioning legion of sycophants who can write good mocking lyrics in the dialect of Hans Kung.

Thus, obviously, CI is head and shoulders above both of them.

  • Yes, something like that has happened to Alex from this site.  I'm not sure about banishment, but they were rude for no good reason.  Very insular over there.  You're not going to see the site that invented the term "bleeps" for sedes getting a lot of sympathy from me.  But that Hans Kung guy is pretty funny.

I agree he's funny. But when he posts in almost every thread and derails them, it loses its novelty.

  • AQ lost me with the moderator's personal crusade against Father Malachi Martin. After almost a decade of decrying Jєωιѕн conspiracy theory, he decided to engage in it himself, although I think it's indisputable that AIPAC manipulated the Bishops to get Nostra Aetate through.

AIPAC's interference and use of coercion seems to me sufficient in itself to invalidate the Council.

Actually, it is more like a Protestant hootenanny (but that is just my opinion).

This would be the most ironic thread in human history...
