  • Donal Enright describes here an important apparition that he saw in San Giovanni Rotondo in Italy on the 23rd of September 1976:

Still going strong today in his 90s, he was born in 1921 and grew up in Ringaskiddy near Cork City in the 20s and 30s. His father worked on the naval dockyards in Cork but was made unemployed just around the time he was born and had to emigrate to Canada leaving him and his sister to be brought up by his mother in Ireland. His original trade was as a blacksmith but in time he became a Safety Officer and worked on this around Ireland. He also worked for a period with Tom Barry at the Cork Harbour Commissioners.

At the time his mother was dying he wrote to Padre Pio and this started a fruitful relationship, and friendship, that, in a remarkable and indeed supernatural manner, survived Padre Pio's death in 1968. He recently wrote a book on this but unfortunately he lost editorial control of it when it was being published.
