Why would they not say both. After all, America and Israel are close allies. America follows Israel's command.

I have felt those temperatures referred to in the OP and it is certainly unpleasant.

Or the fact that Iran is mostly desert where these types of temperatures aren't exactly unusual because of little rain and dry ground. In some parts of Arizona/California/Nevada, this could happen.
