  • I know Father Carlisle complains about the strains of having to do two Masses every Sunday and says he looks forward to having only one.
There are looming logistical challenges as well. All but one traditional Mass in Washington may be shut down any day now. Refugees from Modernism are flocking to the SSPX chapels at Upper Marlboro and Linden. Dillwyn is of course the seminary as well as the priory, so priests there have more duties than at other priories. Pray for vocations!

  • Though I don't agree with Father Ringrose about shutting down completely when COVID happened, I can understand why.  He is getting old and wasn't sure at first as to how he could offer Masses and confession within regulations.  And if he didn't follow the exact rules the chapel is right off of Route 7 and would probably have been completely shut down forever and everyone involved sued.

It was a LOT easier for the SSPX to do their outdoor Masses in Front Royal and Upper Marlboro because they had a lot of younger priests within a few hours taking turns in the responsibilities.
The relatively low visibility of rural vs. urban locations also helped. As you mention, even keeping Upper Marlboro compliant with plandemic regulations was not easy.

Yes, I am familiar with the situation.  We helped host the SSPX in Front Royal while waiting for Saint Athanasius to reopen.  Everyone is doing what they can, Father Ringrose and the SSPX in the area.  I am just grateful that the SSPX chapels in our area don't currently have any novus ordo priest converts who aren't conditionally ordained.  Many other SSPX parishes through the US aren't as blessed in that regard.

Yes, exactly...  That is why I can empathize with Father Ringrose temporarily shutting down until he could figure out a way to reopen without getting into trouble.  We have heard of many traditional chapel which got in trouble and shut down permanently.  Father Ringrose just doesn't have the age or energy to start again from scratch.  The chapel was only shut down for a few months until he started finding ways to start reopening.  Granted it took time to be fully open, but at least he did the best he could when he understood what was going on.

I will thumbs up any website that is dedicated to Mary - she appreciates it too :) Thank you for having a page on the Rosary too, I converted when I found a guide online instructing me how to pray it. God bless you Roger.

True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary - Topic

  • I'm surprised there isn't a Topic on Mother Mary. And so I would like to share this article I wrote:

Devotion to Mary goes back to the Old Testament in Genesis. After Adam and Eve fell into sin, God gave them another chance and promised them the Mother of the Redeemer who would crush the serpent's head. "I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel." (Genesis 3:15) Please notice that the original translation from the official Bible of the Catholic Church tells us in the feminine that she, the Mother of the Redeemer would crush the serpent's head - for the Blessed Virgin Mary was given this role/mission by God from all eternity.

Holy religious since the time of Adam and Eve, particularly Elias on Mount Carmel, had joyful hope and veneration to the Mother of the Redeemer not even knowing her name or when she would be born. The promised Mother of the Redeemer is the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Redeemer is Our Lord Jesus Christ.

One of the most amazing and astonishing aspects of Mary is that she is simply Our Mother - in fact Our Heavenly Mother. We read in Revelations or the Apocalypse that we are the seed of Mary, her true supernatural children - who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. (Apocalypse 12:1,5,17) Please notice that the same anger, war and enmity between the devil and the woman's seed/children in the Apocalypse also existed in Genesis.

In the order of nature - children cling to their natural Mother for love and support and in fact as infants are totally dependent on her. In the order of grace we also have a supernatural Mother Mary in whom we likewise cling to for love and support and are dependent on her for our needs as we also depend on God Our Father.

Devotion to Mary in no way takes away from following Christ. Devotion to Mary is actually the best means to reach and approach Our Lord and imitate the virtues of Jesus and Mary. Jesus being True God and True Man transcends us to such a degree that we are as dust before Him and so Mother Mary is the humble and sweet means to approach God.

I hope you all enjoyed this article and if you would like to see my website devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Please go here:

  • I actually have been reading CI over the years before I even made an account. Shame on me for not introducing myself sooner.

Since infancy, I was raised in Front Royal, VA around large families from St. John’s, from Christendom, and from Seton (Wonderful community of Catholics! I find myself going back several times every year). My grandmother back in the 1990’s attended St. Athanasius where Fr. Ringrose said Masses. We attended these Masses for years, and I received my First Communion as a child there as well as Confirmation from Bishop Williamson. We now attend SSPX.

In fact, I grew up with a very strong traditional mind and a tender heart. I have an intense love for souls and for priests. If you can get to Communion every single day, don’t you dare hesitate. God is too good to us.

Blessed to have discussions with others on this forum.
“The good God does not need years to accomplish His work of Love in a soul; one ray from His Heart can, in an instant, make His flower bloom for eternity.”
    ~ St. Therese of Lisieux
