  • Hello. My name is Nicole. I choose this avatar and screen name because Anne de Guigne is my favorite person to emulate, besides Jesus and His Mother, of course. I like her because up to the age of four, she was a brat, but then became saintly in her obedience, as I need someone to intercede for me before the throne of God in the "Honor thy mother and thy father" department.

I am fifteen years old. I formally entered the Catholic Church two months ago. Both of my parents are agnostics. I am currently a ninth grade student, but I am discerning becoming a nun or a sister when I turn eighteen. I live in California, in the United States of America.

I mainly assist at the Holy Sacrifice of Mass at a small Institute of Christ the King, Sovereign Priest chapel, though I am willing to attend both SSPX/Independent Masses and Ordinary Form Masses if ICKSP /FSSP /Diocesan Extraordinary Form Masses are not available.

I am trying to watch less television and to pray, make rosaries, or to listen to Catholic radio instead.
    Pray the rosary every day!
Private message me for a free rosary!

  • Welcome here Anne. In case you don't know, there are a few people in this Forum who do not accept the vat 2 church as legitimate and see the alleged popes beg w/ john 23 in fact as anti-popes.

There have been about 45 different anti-popes and about 30 different schisms in the history of Holy Church so do not let this phase you.

The Catholic Religion is a set of Dogmatic beliefs that are infallible and have been defined in the 2 part constitution of the Vatican I decrees.

This infallible belief system is here provided for your perusal.

  • Hello.  I am sorry I am typing this a little late.  My name is Dominic.  I am 20 years old.  I live in Eastern Iowa  (Iowa City to be specific).

I have been a Traditionalist Catholic for the past two years or so after being a conservative Catholic.  I attend an indult Latin Mass at St. Wenceslas here in Iowa City.

I still live with my family.

  • Greetings to all. I am a cradle Catholic originally from Chicagoland, lived overseas for fifteen years, and am now a Houstonian. My username and avatar correspond to my patron saint, and I am also devoted to the Blessed Virgin who restored my faith after several years away from it and led me to Tradition. I attend Mass at an SSPX chapel. I have been reading this forum for more than a year and I enjoy the articles and discussions.

  • Welcome to all.

Chris, it is not sedevacantist (and if it was, you would not catch spiritual "cooties", anyway).  However, such things are discussed freely (although not very often).  The site owner is an SSPX-er, to use a label, which is always a bit useless.

Bishop McKenna is in Monroe, Connecticut, for the man who asked about Mass in the NYC area.  I am sure there are more, and he would be a good person to ask.

Trust me this forum is WAY BETTER than Angel queen!

Sounds good. In what way? I just found it through a google search for traditional catholic discussion forum. I stopped posting at AQ a few weeks ago after a long hiatus in the first place. I cannot stand the restrictiveness of the place. All the special things you have to say or are forbidden from saying.

    What is this forum like?

Thank you in advance for your answer.

Don't worry, on Cathinfo there is a lot more freedom and posts are rarely locked.  I got banned from angel queen just because I tried to defend +Bishop Williamson!

  • Thanks for the info. Is there a place to go to see the rules of the forum? I would rather keep in good stead and the best way is to know the rules.

At AQ, if you even hinted that you believe that the VatII church might not be fully Catholic they would jump all over you and scream about being "bleep" and other such nonsense. So childish. I am a serious seeker of knowledge and understanding and as such I try to not cut off any possibility before exploration. And I am getting more and more worried about the Church...

    thanks again

  • Here is the rules thread I posted a while ago:

    http://www.cathinfo.com/index.php?a=topic&t=3431#p0

Since then, I thought of a better way to put it, though:

"In necessary things, unity. In doubtful things, liberty. In all things, Charity."

And to clarify: anything related to the current UNPRECEDENTED crisis in the Church is considered DOUBTFUL by this forum. That goes for everyone, no matter how "clear" it seems to you that this or that position is "the only way".

Therefore you can't call someone a heretic just because they chose this or that nuanced position regarding the Crisis.

We simply must give people the benefit of the doubt when talking about the Crisis.

Anyhow, the only things that are going to be censored on Cathinfo are: blasphemy, filthy language, and grossly uncharitable comments. Stuff that "cries out" for censorship, as it were. Anything else I like to keep the forum free and open, even if that means a heated discussion or two (or three).

No one likes to compose a post for 20 or 30 minutes only to have it deleted by a mod on a power trip.

    Matthew

  • Yeah, I'm in a similar situation, Martyer. I have to drive 40 miles to church, go figure. I go to a very secular High school and the only Traditional Roman Catholic there that I know may as well be a pagan. I will also be going to a very secular college this fall, so I'll need all the prayers I can get so I don't lose my faith or my mind. Pushups, ay? How many can you do? Oh by the way, where is the rules section? I think I had one of my posts deleted because I wasn't following the rules, I think.
I am inexperienced, but I"m also arrogant, something that is very difficult to break at the age of 18. I love to learn new things. Your article on a healthy diet, Catholic Martyer, was very interesting.

Oh yes, I also like to wish ill thoughts on the Federal Reserve System here in the USA :)
    Glad to be here.

In regards to being a responsible man, would it be interesting to learn, after six years of accuмulating all the wisdom you could, that you had it right all alon

  • Yes indeed, thank you for being here. In regards to faith and morals I do my best to humble myself since I don't know everything; anyone who doesn't know everything does not need to feel proud. I certainly hope I'm not a heretic. I do believe though, that since we cannot possibly know everything, or if we're even right, we must have good intentions and ask God for the grace to know what is right so that we may best please Him. Perhaps there are a few protestants out there that may hold to this and are searching for the true faith, though I do notice that most of them believe that they know everything : /

  • I am finishing my freshman year in a public high school - was just introduced via http://traditionalcatholic.net to Catholic Tradition a few months ago - the rest is history.
