Thank you, I think you’re right—I’ve likely been using 'obedience' as a shield to avoid making my own calls. It’s uncomfortable because the Catechism (specifically CCC 1776 and 1790) actually requires me to follow my own certain judgment of conscience. To be honest.

Yes, you are right, Almighty God speaks to all of us in the innermost depths of our hearts...it is up to us to listen to that gentle voice as you have described.
