Hi Everyone!

I was just confirmed as Roman Catholic a year ago (I converted from being Protestant). Both ways are very important in my growth, as both helps me in an understanding about God in ways I would not have known had I only listened to one and ignored the other, so I value both Catholicism and Protestantism and understand why both are considered Christian. Although, I do relate to Catholicism better and feel a closer way of relating to God being Catholic. I may have been Catholic for only one year, but I have studied Catholicism, read about many Catholic saints, etc. for decades.

I live in Oregon, and go to Sunday Mass regularly. My daily worship of God outside of my parish is reading the Saint of the Day, if I don't go physically to Mass, I watch it daily at my parish website (or EWTN Mass), I don't "read" the Bible--I study it daily, I read Bible "stories" daily--I have Catholic books that focuses on main stories of the OT and NT. And bathed in all this, I pray throughout the day, and have a special time every night for examination of conscience, praising God, praying for others, making requests and praising God again, ends my night.

I used to do the Liturgy of the Hours (Divine Office) every day, but decided what I do above fills up my time. But before I go to sleep, I do say this, which is from the Divine Office: "May the all powerful God grant us a restful night and a peaceful death."

Oh! I almost forgot to add! Lorraine is my real birth name, but "Agnes" is my confirmation name. I added Agnes in case there is someone else here named Lorraine. I chose Agnes as my confirmation name because that is Mother Teresa's birth name; she chose "Teresa" because that was her favorite saint, but I chose Agnes as that is more personally her, my favorite saint.

Hello and welcome. You off to a good start but there are a few things I must mention. Firstly properly speaking only Catholics are Christians and protestantism is a false religion. Second, the law of the Church mandates Catholics to attend Sunday mass under pain of mortal sin (unless you are too far or sick which is the case for many on this forum).

This forum is more on the extreme side of things so you will find people here are more uh 'zealous' than other forums for Catholic doctrine. It's also a traditional Catholic forum and not a novus ordo forum. Do you understand the difference between these things? There is a lot to learn but I hope you will continue to grow in grace and love for God.

Thank you for the welcome. Yes, I do understand the difference between the Novus Ordo and Vetus Ordo. The best way to describe where I am at, regarding the degree of zealousness, I am most agreement with EWTN. I love their Mass: Much is Latin, no altar girls, no women speakers at all. I like that the choir can't be seen. I also agree that one should only receive Host from the priest. I don't know if EWTN is considered traditional or not, but I enjoy their Mass a lot and as I said in my intro, if I'm not attending Mass at my parish, I watch online; I would go to Mass in person every day if i didn't live so far. By the way, when I said I attend Sunday Mass "regularly" I meant every Sunday; sorry for the misunderstanding.
