  • Hi I'm new. I registered a few months ago, but just re-found this website. Here is something I've been thinking about:

If I knew then what I know now, I would have never sent our children to college. I have been a professor in the social sciences in a large public university for over 30 years. The system is rigged to attack Christian morals and beliefs. This is true from the premarital-sex and GLBT-friendly dorms, to the rigid teaching of only evolutionary theory in the biological sciences, to the predominance of Marxism in history, political science, philosophy, psychology, sociology, economics, communications, human services. The textbooks available to me totally ignore or misrepresent traditional values and cover various forms of Marxism. I either do not use or minimize the use of a textbook, and often create my own reader with original source material. I now, wish we had not made financial sacrifices to send our children to college. Of course, I could say the same thing about the N.O. "Catholic" schools we sent our children to when we didn't know any better.
Pray for the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

  • Salve forum,

I am a roman catholic supporter of Archbishop Lefebvre since a long time. I also admire Bishop Williamson's faithfulness and steadiness in following the Archbishop.

That's the reason I joined this forum, in order to share thoughts with other traditional catholics. There's only a few places left in "more or less catholic virtual land" where Bishop Williamson supporting catholics can talk. Suche people - be it priests or laymen - are being censored even in the SSPX since about two years, at least here in Europe.

Although having English roots my first two languages are not English. So please bear with my English writing.

Anway, all the best! In Christo.

  • Hello.  Newbie and 2nd post here.  One day something happened in the news and made me believe it must have been a miracle.  After that the word Catholic almost repeated in my head.  I began to read more about the Catholic church after that.  I did ended up going to a handful of n.o services, but by the grace of God I had a friend who is a traditional catholic.  My friend got me in contact with a priest that says Mass in Evansville(driving from Louisville).  After 2 TLM I never went back to n.o and never will.  That was back in November of 2009.  It has been a slow process, but I should finally receive a conditional Baptism, make first Confession, and receive the Holy Eucharist this year.  Deo Gratias!

  • Hello all! I am Edmund a 29 year old male from Montana. I was raised NO/Secular and got involved in buddhism in high school. After high school I converted to Russian Orthodoxy and then back to Catholicism via RCIA. After a year or two of the NO I got fed up with it I had been studying Catholicism and its history and found that I could in good conscience no longer go to the NO "Mass". I now attend an SSPV Chapel. I like reading, Pipe smoking  :detective: gardening, swimming, fishing and hiking. I hope to get married one day and have a big family.

  • Hello everybody:

I'm a twenty-something construction worker from the western seaboard. I am interested in liturgical, theological, scriptural and ecclesiastical studies. I hope I can contribute something edifying to this forum.
Please ignore all that I have written regarding sedevacantism.

  • Hello my name is Zenith and I'm a 27 year old guy from Sydney, Australia. I am an electrician by trade and spent 7 1/2 years in the navy though left just over 2 years ago partly for a better lifestyle as its not very condusive to the Faith.

I was raised Novus Ordo though my family always took the Faith seriously and I couldn't ask for better parents.
I started going to the Tridentine Mass almost 6 years ago. I attend SSPX Masses. Both my parents started going about the same time and so did my sister though my brother is thoroughly NO.

I came across this site through my father and although I have not seen many other forums, this one does seem pretty good with the odd cracked pot spilling its contents here and there. (Not naming any names)
I also like it because of the support that it shows for Bishop Williamson who I find is a rather avoidable topic amoungst others I know. I think he has been dealt with and treated unjustly by those who seem to want unity with Rome at all costs.

Well thats a bit about myself so I won't go on.

    God bless

  • I'm a cradle Catholic.......69 yrs. old. I have 4 grown children & 8 Grandchildren. My husband of 51 yrs. & I have both retired & are kept busy with 13 acres of grass, a small lake & some timber. We both love the outdoors, so this is great for us. Our Grandchildren love it......there's room for football games, baseball & we have put up a basketball hoop.

My hobbies are GARDENING, sewing, gathering the pictures of a lifetime into scrapbooks, reading & continuing to learn about my faith.

I was raised in Catholicism from infancy on & was 28 yrs. old with 3 small children, when the Novus Ordo was introduced. I tried for 10 yrs. to love it & for the next 30 yrs. to endure. After Summorum Pontificuм was promulgated, I gave thanks to God & Pope Benedict & "hightailed" it to a small parish that offers the TLM. & the Novus Ordo Masses.

Since that time, I have not attended a NO. & hope I never have to again. I live worrying about whether the Latin Mass will continue to be offered. However, my pastor seems very dedicated to the Latin Mass.

To tell you the truth, I don't know where I belong anymore. I DO know that I could never be sedevacantist. I have heard so many conflicting views of the SSPX., that I don't think I could be a member there either, but I pray that Pope Benedict & the SSPX can reach an agreement, as we could sure use some additional Traditional Catholics in the Latin Church.

You've read my basic info, so please tell me do I belong here? I've posted on CAF., but Traditional Catholics don't seem to have a place there.    :confused1:

  • Yes, you are certainly welcome.

There are PLENTY of non-Sedevacantists here. If you don't want to discuss Sedevacantism (there are plenty of us here in that category!) simply avoid the "Crisis in the Church" sub-forum, which is where all discussion of that nature is to be kept.

Incidentally, sedevacantists are only allowed on this forum if they agree to be civil to those of use who aren't -- including myself. Among other things, they must acknowledge that we are Catholic and NOT in need of "conversion". Any who don't agree to this -- the bitter/extreme ones -- are banned from the forum.

I have 5 acres myself, and we also love the outdoors. We have 4 kids so far, but they're all under 5. :)

    Welcome to the forum,

    Matthew

  • Wow, Matthew, I knew your kids were pretty young but I didn't know they were THAT young. You must really have your hands full. I must give you a (virtual) pat on the back for being able to raise a family and run a major forum at the same time.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

  • Hello,

My name is Adrienne. I will be 17 years old by the end of this month. I live in WA state.

I was raised Novus Ordo. Last July, God blessed me with discovering the SSPX. This unfortunately created much conflict in my family and still does. Amazingly, I have been able to attend Mass every Sunday at the closest SSPX chapel (35 minutes away) since around the month of November, thanks to my sister and her family who are the only ones of my family that regularly attend the Traditional Latin Mass. Before, I could only sometimes attend the Traditional Latin Mass, and mostly attend the NO Mass. I don't know how long I will be able to attend the True Mass, though, so please pray for me and my family, especially my parents.

I really need some advice for my spiritual life but I am not sure if this is the place to seek that? If anyone is willing to give advice, please send me a message. I do appreciate this.
    Thank you

  • Greetings Ladies and Gents!

I'm 20 years old and currently a student at GW University in DC.  However I've been accepted at Boston College as a transfer student and will begin there next fall.

I was raised in a nominal NO family.  However over the last couple of years the sheer wickedness and hypocrisy in the NO Church became apparent to me.  I believe that the majority of NO bishops are at best careerist cowards (and at worst closet satanists working to destroy the Church).

However, I'm not convinced (for a number of reasons that I don't really feel like discussing for now) that the NO sacraments are invalid.  I used to be a Dimond fanboy until I read this:  http://sites.google.com/site/intheruinsofrome/sedevacantism, which demolished a lot of their arguments.  As a side note, I actually got into an argument with the MHFM secretary over invincible ignorance.  She tried to claim that it was a V2 creation, but when I quoted an encyclical by Pius IX when he explicitly discusses it, she just kept saying, "No, no, no."  End of conversation.

I currently attend a Ukrainian Catholic divine liturgy when possible.  No offense to the 99% of you who are TLM devotees, but I think the Ukrainian DL is a better fit for me.  When I can't make the DL, I suck it up and attend the NO (There are no SSPX chapels in my area).

P.S. I'm actually a Michael Voris fanboy.  He might be NO but he's an honest man who's unafraid to scathingly criticize the bishops.  Like me he believes that NO sacraments are valid but recognizes the rot in the NO Church.  Check out his youtube channel.

You have the excuse of youth on your side, at least.

Here is a video wherein we learn, according to Voris, that ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs are "more intensely loved by God than most others" because of the "cross" of ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity, which "non-ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ persons" can't possibly understand.

Voris suggests that ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs are special in their ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity, and that the suffering of unrequited ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ lust is part of the sanctification of their souls, thus taking away any incentive they might have to fight their wayward urges.

    Signed,

A non-ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ person ( I never knew that was my designated title before, thanks, Michael Voris! )
Readers: Please IGNORE all my postings here. I was a recent convert and fell into errors, even heresy for which hopefully my ignorance excuses. These include rejecting the "rhythm method," rejecting the idea of "implicit faith," and being brieflfy quasi-Jansenist. I also posted occasions of sins and links to occasions of sin, not understanding the concept much at the time, so do not follow my links.

  • Hi Adrienne, :wave:Welcome to the forum!  You will learn a lot here.  My advice:  stay clear of the Baptism of Blood and Desire thread for now, until your know your faith better.
