    Many years ago there was a certain priest who was called upon to do the local pauper's funerals. He did them for Catholics and he did them for non Catholics who had died also. But the funeral he gave them was a Catholic funeral. He didn't water anything down.

    Never has the Church permitted Catholic funerals for non-Catholics.

    Was he leading the non-Catholics to the Catholic Faith here? If you don't think so, then guess what?  You were questioning the bishop.  It's okay poche.  This is a good thing.  Don't fight it.  Welcome to the real world.  Granted, you have much more to go, but at least you're making the step in the right direction.

    There is only one Catholic Faith. And I will remind you that St Alphonsus Ligouri said that those who do not believe in the existence of Hell are those mot in danger of going there.
