  • I think it's wonderful that cathinfo looks to be taking off.

Some of the threads have been rather shameful as of late, for which I might bear some responsibility, but there is no evil that some good does not come of it.

I'm happy to see more people here.  I hope you stay and contribute, so that the forum continues to pick up steam.

  • Yeah, that's good considering for a while we had not been getting any new posters who posted frequently. Hopefully more will cotinue to join.

  • As you both undoubtedly know or suspect, increased size is a mixed blessing :)

The problem at FE is moderation.  But more people helps to create a more steadily moving board and allows for more interesting posts and conversations to develop.

  • I would like to be more active. I am in the same boat as Iuvenalis, where I joined both places about the same time last year, but really only have time for one. I really should be taking a break from both, but then I'd like to enjoy a minimal participation in both.

This place is a lot less frenetic.  I've posted on frenetic boards before and they are more addictive than quieter boards.

Having posters like you and JayneK can help to mellow this board out a bit.

  • Personally, I drop boards / message groups when they become too busy because I can't keep up with the conversation in the amount of time I have to visit the board each day.

I suggest remaining more active here than anywhere else. CatholicInfo is the best around. Part of the reason for that is, interestingly, CatholicInfo is the only Catholic forum right now not undergoing some kind of major problem. FE, CAF, AQ, and IA are all experiencing problems to some degree (CAF's problems are permanent).

  • What's going on at AQ (and IA for that matter? I think Clare is on here too?)

  • AQ was in danger of closing down. It's still running, but is practically hanging on by a thread. IA, ever since Bishop Fellay got ticked off at them, has not been itself. Clare has closed down the general discusssion section, leading to worries that the forum may be temporarily closed down.

AQ posters are busy hijacking serious threads with strings of jokes and large pictures. The mods are busy locking any threads that look to be in any way fruitful re: discussion.

Cath Info is the last true Traditionally Catholic outpost on the net.

    I've been to them all.
