  • Hello all.

    I'm new here.

I'm trying to learn as much as I can about the SSPX and the Resistance.

We've recently started attending an SSPX chapel in our area. I must say, I love it!

I wanted to join this board to make friends with fellow traditional Catholics like me and to try to get answers to questions I have, if I'm welcome.

I'm currently reading a question and answer book about the Society, as well as "Iota Unum, A study of the changed in the Catholic Church in the XXth Century" by Romano Amerio. I know it was a book that Archbishop Lefebvre recommended.

    Thank you and God bless.

  • Hi! Welcome!
If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.

  • Welcome aboard and congratulations on having contracted a serious case of common sense (to say nothing of the Catholic Faith, itself)!   :applause:

Since you're still wading into the waters of Tradition, I cannot overemphasize the importance of staying with such great works as Prof. Amerio's landmark contribution to the eventual restoration of Catholicism within the Catholic Church. (Which I expect will come about in, oh, 2750 AD, or so.)

You may eventually come to the realization, as well, that certain Trads' most developed skill is the speed with which they form up into circular firing squads.

I hope you have a sense of humor since that is usually the best defense against myopic overconfidence or overstatement, two of the preferred cartridges employed by such firing squads.

You'll find many highly knowledgeable folks here and on other Trad forums and, at least in my own experience, a well-expressed question usually receives a prompt answer. And sometimes it may actually have something,  kind of, to do with your actual question!

All the best to you and yours!

#2 Do not attend SSPX Chapels...

Does anyone of this CathInfo Forum who are "Resistance" attend SSPX Chapels at all ???

We have no where else to go close by.  The Priest at our chapel has said nothing about the "Resistance" since he had showed up here.  Why not ?

  • What brought you to the SSPX, RbMjr?  What is your background?  I'm just curious--it always makes me happy when people find traditional Catholicism regardless of their background.

As to your question about Resistance attending SSPX--I attend an independent chapel closely aligned with the Resistance.  My priest encourages me to attend SSPX masses in traveling, which I do when available.  I do not attend any diocesan Masses--neither TLM nor NO.

I would keep assisting at the SSPX chapel where you currently go.  Leave the ideas of the resistance for a future date after you've gained more knowledge and observed your own chapel - which is probably doctrinally and spiritually sound.
