In Scripture the owl is said to represent the
Jєωs who rejected Christ and is NEVER associated with the Light of
salvation. It can never be considered a Christian symbol.
Where in Scripture does it say this?
With all due respect I don't work for you. You can look it up as easily as I
can. If you don't want to know then don't bother.
I actually wonder if the eagle isn't more of an image appropriate to
modern times than is the owl.
It is found in the Apocalypse as one of the "four creatures" (Apoc. iv. 7)
and a symbol which the Church attributes to St. John the Evangelist
because his gospel soars to the heavens. "It is to St. John ...that we owe
the most beautiful pages on the Divinity of the Word made flesh ; and it is
for this reason that he is symbolised by the eagle which soars in the
heights." (St. Andrew Daily Missal, p. 153, on the Feast Day of St. John,
Dec. 27th.) And when, since the days of the Apostle and Evangelist
himself, has the divinity of Our Lord been more in doubt worldwide, than
it is today?
But also recall that Our Lord used the symbolism of
the eagles in
Matthew cap. xxiv. 28: "Wheresoever the body shall be, there shall the
eagles also be gathered together."
Nor is this in context and in connotation of anything other than the last
days, for it is both preceded and followed by verses specifically and
unquestionably regarding the end of the world:
27 "For as lightening cometh out of the east, and appeareth even into
the west: so shall also the coming of the Son of man be...
...(v. 28, above)...
29 "And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall
be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall
fall from heaven, and the powers of the heaven shall be moved..."
Most mysteriously, these things may have already occurred! At least in
part, for, if understood analogously (which is one of the legitimate ways
to interpret Scripture) have we not had "tribulation" in recent years?!
Look at the scourge worldwide, of Communism and Vat.II's inability to
address the topic! Has not the "sun" of the Holy Church, the Light of
the World, been darkened?! Have not one third of the "stars of heaven"
fallen from grace ~ the stars of heaven being considered by theologians
throughout the centuries as analogous to the priests of the Church, the
consecrated souls who would be sacred but who have abandoned their
sacred calling and have turned to sin rather than to the salvation of souls
in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass?!
The one thing that is left to complete v. 29, therefore, is that
"...the
powers of heaven shall be moved..." And this could well be the still
future conversion of Russia that Our Lady promised if only the Pope and
Bishops of the world would consecrate Russia to her Immaculate Heart!
So what does Bishop Fellay announce, but the
consecration of the Society
to St. Joseph! I don't know about you, but I cannot imagine anything
closer to making a consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, without
making a consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The Popes have
been doing just about
everything else but what Our Lady asked them
to do, and now +Fellay tops it off with the last straw: Consecration of the
Society to St. Joseph!
I know a lot of Catholics are tired of hearing about this, but we have in
our midst a most stalwart and faithful priest of God who has spent his life
of prayer and penance devoted to the study and contemplation of this
most deep of mysteries, even
without having the benefit of ever having
been allowed to meet Sister Lucia of the Immaculate Conception otherwise
known as Sr. Lucy of Fatima, RIP, or
without having had access to the
encyclopedic compendium of the Fatima Message by Fr. Alonso, or
without having had the great blessing of setting eyes on the Third Secret of Fatima
(as is the case for the vast majority of mankind).
"Blessed are they that have not seen and have believed" (
Beati qui non
viderunt et crediderunt - Jn. xx. 29).
Nor is he alone, but has gathered all over the world other priests who
have come to share in his most studied and reflective observation of this
great mystery that is alive in our time. And then there are those who
would go another way, as if they were like bugs attracted to an artificial
and deadly light, who would prefer to approach dangerously close to the
apostates in Rome. Let the reader understand...
