  • I have read that if an unwed couple get pregnant, their situation would be legitimised and made right if they get married.

    Does this only apply before the child is born, or even after? If the couple have a child and get married only years after, is the situation made legitimate then?

    I would think this would only apply if they get married before the child is born, but I know nothing of this nor where I could find more information on this.

  • In the 1790s Bishop Penlaver regularly legitimized the children whose parents were getting married in the Church.
