  • Anyone know why the Ignis Ardens board is "offline"?  It has been offline all day today (2 September).  It's been a couple of days, I think, since I checked it so I don't know when it went offline.  Just curious.  Not really much of a loss to tradition.

The status could best be described as 'erased' I think.

    There's nothing there.

A real shame.  I had some good bookmarks there.  Esp between Fr. Cekada and John Lane.
"Be kind; do not seek the malicious satisfaction of having discovered an additional enemy to the Church... And, above all, be scrupulously truthful. To all, friends and foes alike, give that serious attention which does not misrepresent any opinion, does not distort any statement, does not mutilate any quotation. We need not fear to serve the cause of Christ less efficiently by putting on His spirit". (Vermeersch, 1913).

  • I'm not sure that "disabled" means the same thing as erased.  It's certainly possible that Patricius has the forum under lock and key, and could bring it back in part or full--whichever, and whenever, he desires.
But one thing is necessary. Mary hath chosen the best part, which shall not be taken away from her.

Good question.  I recall Deo Non Fortuna making a lot of accusations against that person.

He was driven off of IA by intimidation from Menzingen during the Krahgate period. And yes the Gertrude, DNF, and their harpy clutch have a vendetta against him.

You would think trad forum owners would have more common sense than to let people with such an agenda to operate.

I agree but then they don't call them subversives for naught. This crowd operated under the cover of  being SSPX supporters. Their agenda however had nothing to do with the Society.
Somewhere between the Searchlight and these people there are Jєωs in the woodpile. There were strong indicators of this.
This was an outside operation that was using IA as a battlefield.

Well I am sure that this closure is a pleasant surprise for the Swiss King and his subjects.

  • There are inaccuracies in the comments made about IA though it is up to the IA staff to answer.

  • To be fair it is a discussion forum. I have always maintained they should have stood their ground and not removed the 'Krahgate' material. It matters little now as the SSPX have formally compromised. I have nothing against them at IA as the majority  attending the SSPX didn't give two hoots about these grave matters. People have moved on.

  • The lesson of IA is that we shouldn't rely on an internet address to decide where like-minded people congregate.

If an environment remains hospitable it should be preserved, if it becomes a hostile venue it should be replaced.  Boards like IA and FE lost it years ago, and frankly it's not big loss.

The main thing is to educate forum posters to exercise more pressure to ensure that Catholic standards are maintained and those hostile to tradition are strictly contained and removed when necessary.
