  • Give a man a fish and you feed him for one day.
Teach a man to fish, and he feeds himself for life.

    Book #1
    1) No other bible compares:

These are the publishers of it, and the best traditional Catholic bookstore that there is:

    http://www.catholictreasures.com/cartdescrip/11341.html

That bible is composed of 20% scripture, and 80% footnotes from the Fathers, Doctors, Saints, Popes, and othe Catholic authorites. The bible is a reprint of the original Haydock of the mid 1800's, so, you won't find any modernist garbage in it.

    Book #2

The 15 Volume Liturgical Year, by Abbot Dom Gueranger

    These are the publishers:  http://www.libers.com/liturgical_year.htm

The Liturgical Year, gives you the mass readings for every day (from the 1850's missal, no modern junk!), and then details the Catholic history of that feast day , or saint, or church historical event.

If a person only had these two books, they would need nothing else
to occupy their soul, other than the mass itself, and prayer.
"Wrong is wrong even if everyone is doing it.
Right is right even if no one is doing it." - Saint Augustine

  • Hey, that's 16 books, not 2.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

  • Of course, if I were shipwrecked, I'd want "How to Build Wooden Boats".

It's really 2 books...they were so large they had to break it down into 16 books....  :smoke-pot:

Well, maybe you will be lucky enough to be marooned with that guy from Gilligan's Island who could build a nuclear reactor out of orange peels and twine.  He never could manage to build a boat though...
