Did anyone read the book "Martin Luther: Hitler's spiritual ancestor" by Mr Peter F Wiener ?
It quoted a lot of Luther's own writings, such as:
● "You owe nothing to God except faith and confession. In all other things He lets you do whatever you like. You may do as you please, without any danger of conscience whatsoever." (see Grisar, "Luther", vol. iv, p. 145).
● "Be a sinner, and sin boldly, but believe more boldly still." ; "The Saints must be good, downright sinners." ; "The Apostles themselves were sinners, yea, regular scoundrels…I believe that the prophets also frequently sinned grievously" (E62, 165).
● [extra-marital relations] "If you do not want, someone else does. If the wife does not want, take your servant" (E20, 72).
● "It is not forbidden that a man should have more than one wife" (E33, 327.).
● "I am Christ"; "I am the prophet of the Germans, for such is the haughty title I must henceforth assume."
These quotations give us a better understanding of the so-called reformation and its real meanings.
I am wondering was Mr Wiener a Catholic ? Were the quotations in his book real ?
