  • I just finished this little pocket rosary. Its my first ever, and I chose to do the wire wrapping because our rosaries seem to break a bit too often. I like the idea that these should hold fairly well. Fortunately, my mother in law is in to crafting and Jєωelry making; she had the beads and wire and pliers I needed already. I'm making one for my wife's baptism, in 2 weeks, as her baptismal gift, and wanted to practice. The crucifix isn't my favorite, (more correctly, the detail of our Lord), but I was limited on my options from the local Catholic gift shop.

  • That's great. How does it feel? It looks like it would feel kinda stiff, compared to what I'm used to.

  • @ Graham- It looks stiff in the picture, or any time I put it on a table (you can see how its curvature looks 'unnatural'. but its quite comfortable. But I isn't as free moving as a the normal rosaries I'm used to. The beads are a little bigger than I'm used to,but they're really nice stones and were free!  :dancing-banana:

@ Emerentiana- Thanks!   And I'm definitely going to look into that website!

Our kids used to make rosaries for the missions from this website.  Years ago Our Lady's Rosary Makers gave away mission rosary kits with their $2.00 memberships to new members.  They can't afford to give them away now, but for just $6.90 for a kit that makes 50 mission rosaries, that's dirt cheap so that's almost giving them away.  I think they supplement these kits with donation money.  For this price Our Lady's Rosary Makers ask that you donate the finished rosaries to the missions.  Our kids used to give their rosaries to our priest or to a group of people who then sent the rosaries to missions.

So, to order your mission rosary kit for just $6.90 plus shipping to make 50, yes 50!! mission rosaries go to:

Also, please check out The Universal Living Rosary, a very worthy nonprofit Catholic group of people who send Rosaries and scapulars to the missions:

  • Very nice! I love that you're making it for your wife's baptism. How precious, it makes it all the more precious. Just knowing the time you took to make something personal is very touching.
