  • To celebrate part of my heritage, I made a new avatar.

I've been exploring my Irish heritage of late (especially the music), so there you have it!

By the way, my last name does start with Mc.

  • Wonderful. We like to listen to Irish music in this house. There is just a tad of the Irish in us. I am German-Italian.

  • I hate to be the one to spoil the party( My father was Italian and Irish) however the Irish tri-colour flag( like the German, Italian, French and Mexican) is a revolutionary, masonic, anti-christ symbol of 'Liberty, Equality, Fraternity'-- nothing personal Matthew.
There Is No Such Thing As 'Sede Vacantism'...
nor is there such thing as a 'Feeneyite' or 'Feeneyism'

  • I included the traditional flag (which I prefer), below it.

I had to include the modern, commonly known, Irish flag -- or no one would recognize it.

Isn't Mc Scottish and Mac Irish?

Isn't Mc Scottish and Mac Irish?

Usually, people say Mc is Irish and Mac is Scottish, but neither is necessarily true.

Mac is Gaelic (both Irish and Scottish Gaelic) for 'son' or 'son of'.

Mc is just an anglicization of the Gaelic word Mac. Both Irish and Scottish people can have Mc or Mac as part of their surname.

  • In Matthew's case, we found an ancestry website that seems quite confident that the name is Irish.
