  • They claim on their forum home page that "Membership is open to all, Catholic and non-Catholic alike, who seek the Truth with Charity," however, I was warned by individual forum members that I would be banned for my views on EENS, which are not "hard-core Feeneyite" and which are, I believe, wholly orthodox.  In any case, they banned me over a thread which I wrote in response to a post from Father Zuhlsdorf:

    http://wdtprs.com/blog/2012/03/quaeritur-seminary-monitors-seminarians-email-surfing-wherein-fr-z-administers-tough-love/

After reading Father Z's blog, I posted on the CAF's vocation section that such semainarians should use the Tor Browser to protect their privacy:

    https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser.html.en

Within a few hours, my post was deleted.  I complained to the moderators who told me that my post was "not appropriate."  (Uh, the software is both free and legal.)  I claimed that they were engaging in censorship and told them that their actions were "not American" and "not Catholic."  After that, they banned me.  I tried calling Karl Keating's office about it, but they did not return my phone call.

  • Welcome to the Club, Jehanne!

I, along with many others here on CI, have been banned at one time or another for subscribing to anything Traditional Catholic rather than Modernistic Persuasion.

KK?  :stare: You might as well place a call to the moon - that's where they live, anyway.

  • CAF has the worst moderators of all the Catholic forums in existance. I've shared my experience with those mods before, and they are nothing but dishonest liberals who have ridiculous double standards and make up excuses just to ban people.

As a moderator of my own forum, I normally have sympathy for moderators, since being a mod is no easy job. But I have no sympathy for moderators like the ones at CAF. It's amazing to me that they dare to call themselves Catholics.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

  • I have been banned by the dioceses of phoenix, by Judie Brown, and by Lifesite.news. What fun!  Even on "open lines" on the radio, I was sifted out. So, much for open lines!  Is it not amazing when they want your comments, they don't.  When they want the truth, well, not that kind of truth!  If they don't like what they read, you are banned!  So, where can one go, but here at cathinfo?

  • Why is it taking you guys so long to get banned from there?

I got banned with such quickness that even Usain Bolt would envy me
For those who I have unjustly offended, please forgive me. Please disregard my posts where I lacked charity and you will see that I am actually a very nice person. Disregard my opinions on "NFP", "Baptism of Desire/Blood" and the changes made to the sacra

    LOL.

It took me about 550 posts to get banned from CAF (a month and a half). I'm really surprised they left me on there that long. Though, I had only been a Traditional Catholic for just over two months when I joined CAF. So if I were to join that forum today, given that my mindset has become much more Traditional since then, I doubt I'd last longer than a week.

I took their teaser at the top seriously -- "Membership is open to all, Catholic and non-Catholic alike, who seek the Truth with Charity."  Here is the email which I sent to Karl Keating; he never responded to me (if he does, I will post that fact here in this thread):

    Quote
    Dear Mr. Keating,

I have listened to many debates between Christian apologists and other "opponents" over the years, more than I can even remember. More than anyone else, I have listened to Dr. William Lane Craig and his many debates with atheist apologists. Dr. Craig is very, very open, and like you, he runs his own message board, which I post on. However, unlike the CAF message board, Dr. Craig allows anyone whatsoever, atheists included, to fully express their thoughts and ideas without censorship and moderation, as long as they are civil and cordial with each other. As I am sure that Dr. Craig himself would agree with, "Truth can defend itself," and hence, it does not need to "defend" itself behind a wall of censorship.

I am a confessing Roman Catholic, and so, I disagree with Dr. Craig on many points. I have, however, listened to some of your debates over the years as well, and as with Dr. Craig's debates, both you and your various opponents are each allowed to express your own individual viewpoints in a moderated forum where you each come together to discuss an agreed-upon issue. You present arguments, evidence, and reason to support what you believe to be the Truth, but each side is allowed to present his/her own arguments without interpretation and without moderation, as long as the agreed-upon rules of the debate are followed.

Such a Tradition is both wholly American and wholly Catholic. Saint Paul himself used to have such debates, as did the Church fathers, even into the era of medieval scholasticism, right up to our present day. In carrying on that Tradition, we can advance the Kingdom of Heaven through the tools of logic, reason and evidence and present to our "audience" that Roman Catholicism is the One True Faith, "outside of which no one at all will be saved." Our listeners may disagree, but such is their prerogative.

It is my hope to speak with you personally about this someday.

    Very Truly Yours,

    Don Flood
