  •  Last year I attended 400 masses and went to confession 40 times.

This year my last Mass was on Jan 30 and I have no desire or urge to return to Church.

It used to be I viewed Church as an escape, a place to worship God and believed that everyone followed the teachings of Christ.

Now I view the Church as a political war ground. The faithful pitted against the disgusting self-indulgers of the world and the false preaching leadership.

I don't feel there is a priest shortage, just a surplus of fake catholics and false preaching liars.

I keep moving the date I will return back... the dates come and go...

    I think June 1st- I think not.

Why did you published this depressing post.   We are all under the
    same temptation.
What you need to do Crossbro, is to say three decades of the
Rosary everyday for the rest of your Life.
I guarantee that your depressing thoughts and feelings will go
    away.
We all want to feel good on CI. And, fight the world, the flesh and
    the devil.

  • It could just be a temptation of the devil to get you to lose your faith, or it could be that God is sending you this spiritual dryness as either a test or a way to make you change your outlook.

Ignore the petty infighting in the "church", live your FAITH, that is what we are called to do.  Read history, the Church has never had peace, the devil prays on human weakness to keep things stirred up and demoralize the faithful.  Our faith is NOT defined by the people who go to our church, or by the behavior of the hierarchy.

Take a "vacation" from all the turbulence and go volunteer to work with the homeless, you will truly become grateful for all your blessings when you are around those who have nothing, including nothing to look forward to and no faith to lead them to eternity.

Don't avoid the sacraments!  If need be just go to church and leave right away if that is what you have to do to avoid toxic people, or stay in the church after Mass and pray your rosary and let everyone else leave first.  Make a holy hour or just sit in the church and pray your rosary when no one else is around.

Does your chapel offer confessions mid-week?  Our chapel has confession on Wednesday evenings and the priest is there for an hour.  Not many people go so it is a quiet time to just sit in a corner and pray and not have to interact with anyone.

Reading St. Francis de Sales' Introduction to the Devout Life might be good too.

What you need to do, Crossbro, is to say [pray] three [five] decades of the Rosary everyday for the rest of your Life.

There is no difficulty that cannot be overcome by prayer of the Rosary.

"He that shall persevere to the end, he shall be saved" (Matt.xxiv. 13).

  • If crossbro was attending the Novus Ordo, he should not return to "church".

If crossbro was attending an indult Mass, he should not return to "church".

If crossbro was attending a traditional Mass with certainly validly ordained priests, he is sewing the seeds of his own destruction.

(Note that I did not say anything about whether it was a sedevacantist or non-sedevacantist chapel.)

If the Mass is what is bothering you, then you are falling into hell rapidly.

If the sermon is what is bothering you because the priest uses it as a "political battlefield", then leave after the Gospel and return for the Creed.  The sermon is not part of the Mass and isn't where you receive the Graces of the Mass.

By not going to Mass because you don't "feel" like it, you are joining the ranks of the fake Catholics that you despise so much.

It doesn't matter how you feel. Get your will together and go to Mass.

  • Since the Traditional Latin Mass is the worship to which God is due, I will always assist (if physically able).

The only reason to stop attending Mass is if one became convinced that the Home Alone position was correct.   The person who holds to this view could be excused as a form of insanity.

The person who stops attending Mass for his own entertainment needs is in a state of mortal sin and is a fallen away Catholic.

Assist at the Unbloody Sacrifice of the Mass.  It is your duty as a Catholic.

    True.

If the decision of going to Mass is based on the condition of the Church as an earthly organization, instead of, on the absolute need and obligation to take the sacraments that one has, (as a true Catholic), for the nourishment of the supernatural life, then one is going to Mass for the wrong reasons to begin with.
If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.

  • You already made this exact same thread a few months back saying the exact same thing.

Was there something missing from that thread that you hope to achieve in this one?
"Be kind; do not seek the malicious satisfaction of having discovered an additional enemy to the Church... And, above all, be scrupulously truthful. To all, friends and foes alike, give that serious attention which does not misrepresent any opinion, does not distort any statement, does not mutilate any quotation. We need not fear to serve the cause of Christ less efficiently by putting on His spirit". (Vermeersch, 1913).

  • You are referring to the Novus Ordo mass, yes?  When you say you attended some 400?  And when you talk about "returning?"  Don't return to the Novus Ordo.  It's not a mass.

My recommendation for folks in your situation is to find a local traditional Eastern Catholic liturgy. Its eschatological conversation between Father, Son and Holy Spirit, with the Blessed Mother weaving in and out, and absent the politics of Latin Traditionalism, is often rejuvenating spiritually.

  • If you have access to the True Mass offered by a real priest, then you had better go.  Some of us don't have access to that on a regular basis.
For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect. (Matthew 24:24)

  • Go for the sacraments and get out. That's all you can do at these NO churches.
