You already made this exact same thread a few months back saying the exact same thing.

Was there something missing from that thread that you hope to achieve in this one?

I thought this sounded familiar and initially thought it might be an old topic bumped up again, but then saw the date and figured I may be mistaken.

It could just be a temptation of the devil to get you to lose your faith,

I did not say I lost my faith. My faith is just fine.

You say you will  maybe go back to mass June 1st?  Well, May 31 could be the last day of your life.

    I doubt it.

    Crossbro

Why did you published this depressing post.   We are all under the
    same temptation.
What you need to do Crossbro, is to say three decades of the
Rosary everyday for the rest of your Life.
I guarantee that your depressing thoughts and feelings will go
    away.
We all want to feel good on CI. And, fight the world, the flesh and
    the devil.

Umm speak for yourself, I have never had this "temptation" you speak of.

The desire to go indie home aloner is based on the idea that you are somehow more perfect then all of us "sinners." It is very much a donatist error, you go to mass to give glory to God. Not for socializing, even though its nice to be able to talk to other fellow Catholics etc... It is primarily for the Glory of God, never forget that.

Man up (not sure if you are a girl or a guy), and quit going down this rabbithole of sentimentalism. Sometimes your intellect needs to lay down the law, and order your unbridled passions and emotions. In other words, stop taking yourself so seriously and just relax for a bit. Quit being the judge of everyone around you, and start growing in love of your neighbors. If you can't bear the crosses of other people, then you are not worthy of the name of Catholic. "Bear one another" Remember that.

Not sure if you mean NO or traditional mass, if you truly don't have a true mass to attend then simply remain at home and pray. If you do have a true mass to attend then simply humbly go, assuming that the indie priest is not some radical schismatic or a notorious heretic. The sacraments are a must, its the life blood for a Catholic, God will provide extraordinary graces to those who don't have the mass available.

If crossbro was attending the Novus Ordo, he should not return to "church".

If crossbro was attending an indult Mass, he should not return to "church".

If crossbro was attending a traditional Mass with certainly validly ordained priests, he is sewing the seeds of his own destruction.

(Note that I did not say anything about whether it was a sedevacantist or non-sedevacantist chapel.)

If the Mass is what is bothering you, then you are falling into hell rapidly.

If the sermon is what is bothering you because the priest uses it as a "political battlefield", then leave after the Gospel and return for the Creed.  The sermon is not part of the Mass and isn't where you receive the Graces of the Mass.

I was attending daily Mass at a local NO parish and the Cathedral- I was attending Sunday Mass at a diocese TLM mission.

It doesn't matter how you feel. Get your will together and go to Mass.

It does matter how I feel when the feeling is that by going to Mass I am supporting something that is not legitimate. My presence leaves the impression I stand behind Francis.

  • If I am going back it is because there is something there that tells me that it is where God wants me to be, period.

When I am told to go back I will go back, if I am not told then I won't go back.

There is no despair or lack of faith. I certainly feel that my pessimism towards this shell of a Church is legitimate.

Last year I attended 400 masses and went to confession 40 times.

This year my last Mass was on Jan 30 and I have no desire or urge to return to Church.

My recommendation for folks in your situation is to find a local traditional Eastern Catholic liturgy. Its eschatological conversation between Father, Son and Holy Spirit, with the Blessed Mother weaving in and out, and absent the politics of Latin Traditionalism, is often rejuvenating spiritually.

I really don't see what is so political about going to mass? I have gone to several SSPX chapels and I have never heard any "political" sermons, ever. It has been over 16 years, the sermons are solid based on the Fathers of the church, educational, anything but political.

I really don't understand why everyone cares about who they sit right next to and what they believe. If you have the faith that is all that matters, sure we might disagree over the current man dressed in white but no one disagrees in rejecting everything he says and does. So as far as I am concerned, SSPX are SV'ist that have not come to understand their own principles. Its okay, sometimes it takes sometimes to come to self-realization or that Eureka moment where you realize you were "there all along."

I would love to be able to attend Easter Liturgies. Especially one that has no Latinizations, a priest that is actually not "orthodox" for all intents and purposes (more often then not, they are a bunch of heretics that have nothing of Catholic belief, surprises me why they have not left the church). The ones that are really bad about all this are the Melkites, I have heard several "Catholic" melkite priest go on Orthodox Radio (yes I listen to them one in a while to be aware what our fellow heretics are up to) pretty much talk about how they retain belief in the truthfulness of the Orthodox claim etc...

My sister says the same thing.  So do her adult children.  Many of my wife's relatives would say this as well, even though virtually none of them know what the inside of a church (any church) looks like.

And they live as if there is no God.

Those who claim that their "faith is just fine", they just don't go to church are doing nothing but lying to themselves as they descend further and further into the depths of hell.

Unfortunately, crossbro, this is the truth as hard as it is to read.

You are wrong, this is the 3rd time I have made this thread, not the second.

If you don't like it post on something you are interested about.

Really ? I post I went to 400 Masses last year and a cradle Catholic for 47 years and that is the truth about me ?- That I virtually do not know what the inside of a Church looks like and I am descending into the depths of hell ?

Yes, crossbro, except the part about not knowing what the inside of a church looks like. But give it a few years and you're memories will begin to fade.

You attending 400 Novus Ordo/Indult services--and boasting about it on an internet forum--does not really reflect great faith. It reflects the sort of "humility" presented by Bergoglio. The only real difference is that he has better public relations operatives than you do.

Am I boasting about it ? I decided to do that because Pope Benedict said that it was the year of faith, so I decided that would be my goal. Before I even achieved it the little rat resigned his post.

People say I need to do this or that- but after doing this or that I have no "impulse" to return to "this or that".

Pray the rosary daily- like I have never done that before.

Go to Mass anyway- like I have never done that before.

    blah blah blah
