Hello all,
My oldest is going to be receiving her first holy communion this year and I was hoping to get some feedback on where to get a nice modest dress for her.
I've been searching around online and have found a few worth considering but I'm hoping for some more options. The few I found have sleeves that go to the mid bicep area and have a high neckline but I'm hoping for longer if not full sleeves.
I've come across many that have no sleeves and have small straps going over the shoulders. These of course are not in consideration.
Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Have you looked on etsy? There are many custom seemstresses on there. You may be able to find a dress that you like everything about except, for example, the sleeve length. You could talk to the seller and they might agree to make it to your specs.

I went with a sleeveless dress with a matching sweater for our girls.
ETA: Inspired by these pretty girls.

Congratulations on your daughter's First Communion. Such an important day!
A suggestion would be using a white "bolero" to cover her little arms. You may purchase it separately and use it on a sleeveless dress.

I like this dress.

I think it is flower girl dress originally.

Add lace for neckline or fabric for neckline.

How about this one?

This I like the best.

Is it customary to wear a long dress for first Holy Communion? Viva, that last one cost Au$160, which seems an exorbitant amount for a family to pay for one day and of course you would need accessories (veil etc) on top.

Thank you very much to everyone. The feedback has been great. There are many options to consider now. Hopefully we'll find the right one, it fits well, and it will be a blessed day. Thanks again everybody.

The one with belle sleeves was $110.00. I really like that dress.
It just gives ideas. You might be able to find the same dress at thrift store, consignment or good will, yard sale, flea marts.
Check out Mexican stores. They usually stock Holy Communion dresses.
Or sometimes family or friends will sew a dress too.
Now with craft stores, you can make the veils too.

This dress is amazing! It would make a perfect wedding dress if they had larger sizes... ;)

Great ideas with the sweater, jackets! A friend of mine is getting married this year, and we all plan to have something similar for our bridesmaid dresses. (Except not white but blue...) :)
