There is a Franciscan monastery in France (Monastiere Saint-Francois, Domaine de "Lanorgard", 29380 Le Trevoux, France) which produces an annual Ordo for the SSPX. Listed therein is a directory of all the Society's churches, chapels and Mass centers throughout the world.
Some of us have heard figures ranging from 1-2 million as being the number of faithful who attend SSPX chapels. Can this be possible?
In this Ordo there are about 800 Mass venues listed. Thus, if each center had about 100 people attending, we would get a global figure of 80,000. And following this, if different average attendances per chapel were drawn up, these are the results we would get:
800 venues @200 = 160,000
@300 = 240,000
@400 = 320,000
@500 = 400,000
Doesn't seem possible to go over 500,000. What do you think?
