  • The pope may not be "one of us" in terms of holding solidly to the traditional Catholic line... but just occasionally he gives us a glimmer of hope that can encourage those of us who still recognize his authority (even if we can't follow in any of his mistakes).

    Another article I saw mentioned that (assuming it's true) he told Catholic pharmacists to "exercise a "conscientious objection" to dispensing drugs that would block pregnancy, induce an abortion or assist euthanasia."

    Sure, you can produce probably 50 articles about liberal actions but... it's nice that these kinds of things are ALSO going on. Let's pray that the rest of his actions come over to this (traditional) line.

    We can be rightfully sad by the bad we see all those other times, but let's also at least acknowledge that there is at least SOME good going on here too. These are little (or perhaps not so little) blessings of God's grace, and probably took more guts than most of us appreciate.

    Rather than this turning into another "pope or no pope" thread, it would be nice to know if anyone else can link us to more of these "rays of hope" coming from Rome. If you don't think he is the pope, or you think he's the anti-Christ ... please, allow those of us who do appreciate his authority (however in need of help) to have this little discussion of what GOOD is happening in his heart and soul. After all, these are the signs that God is working with the tool man has given Him. And with God all things are possible.

    (Please, just let this one "pope thread" escape the usual accompanying debate. I'm trying to make a thread that, for a change, points out the good.)
