Where does one get these kneeelers?

Not Amazon...so...where online?

Local antique stores (local to me) never have anything of the sort, so don't tell me I'll find them there... :)

Hello Pat,

Is that an old pocket prayer book on the right of the table? Its always nice to see shrines in the home.

I had this double kneeler built for my wife and I, and I hope to see it used in family weddings. I used spanish cedar, and used a hand rubbed penetrating oil to give it depth. It has a shelf for prayer books and a matching shelf that we use for our home shrine. The cushion is burgundy, and attached with antique brass tacks. I am going to put one on ebay, to help pay for the prie dieu i've wanted to have built for 7 years.

Hello Iuvenalis,

Ebay has them all the time, and I can tell you which one's have been on there for years. If you happen to see one you like, and interest's you, let me know. You may be able to get it at a big discount. Another place is andythorton.com. They are overseas, and the shipping is more than most of the kneelers in some cases. The one I rescued from Belgium came from there, and they were a pair. I wanted the pair, but it was out of my price range.

The idea for the one I am having built came from a company here in the USA. I have searched on and off for years. Hand's down kingrichards.com is the best place you will find. They can actually build the one I want cheaper, but the craftsman I'm using is considered the best woodcarver in the U.S..  I live in Virginia so having one built in Georgia causes a few concerns. One is wood movement because of the climate. Let me know if I can be of further assistance

Tarpeian

What about a thread (pictures), on Catholic Home Shrines the Domestic Church?

I love those prie dieu's, Tarpeian. Have you seen this thread on home altars:  http://www.cathinfo.com/catholic.php?a=topic&t=17931&min=0&num=5

There's another one which I haven't located yet. Will post it if I find it.
