Holy Innocents to be closed (a rumor I heard)

  • I heard from someone at Mass last week that Holy Innocents, one of the local diocesan Churches in New York City which has a daily Tridentine Mass will be closed and sold by the diocese. Some people who attend my SSPX chapel came from there. Maybe when the Church does close some of its parishoners will start coming to the SSPX chapel instead of going to one of the other "indult" Masses.

What I heard was a rumor, so it might not be true. I could not find any information about the closing by doing a google search.
    R.I.P.
Please pray for the repose of my soul.

  • They won't go to SSPX.  IME, most of those who attend indult, when it is taken away, go to novus ordo, or give up.  That's part of the Masonic plan to condemn as many souls as possible.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • A shame (if true). The only place in the city where daily Latin Mass is available. I attended there frequently.

Father Rutler was (very) recently made rector there (as well as St. Michael's - seemed like something of a censure from Dolan)... I wonder how that figures into this.

I guess they're trying to strong-arm the Faithful into attending Latin Mass at St Agnes, which has been sabotaged by the Musical Director (under orders probably) with horrendous, demonic compositions from modernist atheist sodomites like Benjamin Britten:

My sole remaining childhood friend is an FSSP seminarian. He told me, when he entered 5 years ago, that the NY Archdiocese was "very close" to opening an FSSP parish in NY.

Much to the health of my pulmonary system, I decided not to hold my breath waiting for that to happen.

I know quite a few families who attend Mass at the Franciscan Friary.  Currently those friars still have permission to say the Tridentine Mass.  My friends have said when that comes to an end, they will remain where they are and attend the Novus Ordo.  They say they will "obey" even if it means they no longer have the Mass they "love."

I recently spoke to a woman I met at random in my area.  She had a bumper sticker that said "I <3 the Latin Mass."  She was wearing a scapular ( I could see the cord around her neck), so I approached her.  I mentioned that if she was looking for a Latin Mass, I knew of several places but she would have to drive.  She said the priest told her not to go to those "places."  I left her my number in case she changed her mind.

IME, these people have sentimental attachments to some fantasy world--the 1950s, the old Mass, grandma's Bible.  But they don't understand their faith, let alone love it.  Very sad, but we must pray and never stop trying to help our Catholic friends find the True Mass and the Sacraments.

I would never dare presume to judge the degree to which a person loves the Faith, nor anything else regarding interior dispositions (which are known to God alone), but I would posit this - Perhaps they are faithful Catholics of good will who have genuine concerns about serious matters like jurisdiction and the Sacrament of Penance.
