  • I enjoy looking at Holy Cards that are listed on Ebay, sometime I purchase them for my collection.

    Today someone was offering an image of St. Anthony with relic, (they claim) of his skeleton, from Portugal.  

    You can enlarge the image if you are not familiar with Ebay.

    It was interesting to me, thought it might be to you also.  I have seen bones of Saints before but never the entire skeleton as this image has.

  • This is actually not such an unusual sight in many parts of the world. Skeletons of Saints are either exposed on festive occasions (like the Saints feast day or Church patronage) or permanently, as in a glass sarcophagus, usually underneath an altar in Baroque Churches.  

    PS: I just looked it up, St. Anthony´s relics were last displayed in 1981 and 2010
