  • So a new thread has opened on CAF wherein a Hindu is openly seeking proselytes to his cult.

    http://forums.catholic.com/showthread.php?t=812876

    Quoth the OP:

"After dabbling in a number of religious traditions, including Catholicism, I have finally chosen to settle on Hinduism or Sanathana Dharma. I am pleased to answer any questions to the best of my ability. I wish to present the truths of my religion in all their purity. Other writers have attempted to humor the public by dressing up Hinduism in Western dress and in Western ways of thought and expression. Instead I wish to be completely authentic, to the very best of my knowledge.

    Aum Hari Aum."

Well that's good... at least orthodoxy is at long last being promoted on CAF... albeit Hindu orthodoxy.

I'm curious to see how long he is able to do this unmolested... A good deal longer, I am willing to bet, then I managed to last when I dared to question the beauty of Mohammedanism on CAF last month...

Excellent work, sir. Your mission is noble but doomed to failure I'm afraid.

Though, since this other guy is throwing the CAF "guidelines" at you, why not ask him why those selfsame rules explicitly permit questioning of Catholic dogmas in the aim of furthering this "dialogue," something no Catholic is at liberty to do?

I did as you suggested. I hope I did a fair job of it.

The rule approving denial of Catholic dogma was only pointed out to me here after I had been banned. I wished I had known about it befor ethe ban so I could have confronted them about it. I could not have done so better than you have. Accept a hearty thumb up.

As you dared to defend the Catholic faith over and against an "ex cathedra" declaration from Mr hilbert, you may expect the infraction (if not a full out ban) very shortly.

Thank you for giving witness to the truth, jlamos.

  • This is priceless...

So this "bzkoss" guy (with whom I disputed once or twice at CAF) responds to jlamos' simple statement of Catholic truth with what can only be termed a masterpiece of mush-minded modernism (jlamos' post in italics, bzkoss' in bold):

    Quote:

    No thank you.

Then I see you getting no-one to convert.

Dialogue is the beginning of evangelization. If you aren't willing to evangelize, then I do not see you winning any souls for Christ.

And if one does not question the Church's teachings, how are they to understand. We are not called to follow blindly. We are called to understand, and part of understanding is to ask questions. Also, don't we want non-Catholics to question our beliefs to strengthen ourselves?

If you aren't willing to contribute to the dialogue of this topic, then I suggest you start a new thread discussing your issues with this forum or to not post at all as you will only be uncharitable as you have been now. This thread is for people to question so as to understand. The more we understand others, the better we can evangelize. Jesus himself spent time dialoguing with sinners and non-believers, and we are called to do the same. If you want to follow the teachings of Christ and His Church, then dialogue, and do so with kindness and charity, as we are called to do.

To get back on topic, OP: Do you only worship Krishna, or do you worship other Hindu gods too?

  • Just as the white stripe of a skunk is a universally understood "keep away" sign, so too is frequent use of the word "dialogue" as a verb by any self-purpoted "Catholic."

Might as well be wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with: "Hello. I am a Modernist."

    That's a damnable lie.

"You worship what you do not know..."

"Unless you believe that I am He, ye shall die in your sins."

"Ye are of your father, the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do."

Sure, Our Lord Jesus Christ would "dialogue" with sinners. It was just very short dialogue.

May God have mercy on the soul of that poor deluded Hindu heathen. Heaven fights against fools like those at CAF who deny the Faith in the name of "dialogue".

Immaculate Heart of Mary, triumph soon!

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
This evil of heresy spreads itself. The doctrines of godliness are overturned; the rules of the Church are in confusion; the ambition of the unprincipled seizes upon places of authority; and the chief seat [the Papacy] is now openly proposed as a rewar

I saw you throw out a challenge.

A guy posts from a religion that openly denies Our Lord and no one bats an eye.  A Catholic challenges and the very next posts are on your case hard!

  • That's pretty bad. I know of a few FSSP priests who regularly called Hinduism (and yoga for that matter) devil worship in no uncertain terms both from the pulpit and in personal conversation. The FSSP is theoretically within the same NO Church as these fools. I wonder if Francis will crack down on such things as being uncharitable or not ecuмenical enough.

  • I just tried to reply, but the thread is now closed.

Here is what I was going to post:

Of all the nerve! I am not dialoguing with the heathen. I am openly mocking his dabbling in this-or-that before settling for an idiotic false religion wherein the adherents worship idols. The only answer he can provide is that he didn't care enough to study and be lead by the Holy Ghost to the truth, so he settled on the lie that was most convenient to his own desires.
