  • What did you all do while I was away?

(Reads post calling for the banning of Caminus)

I am speechless...unless you count laughter.

I feel like a parent who came home from a 3 hour "date night", and discover to my horror that the babysitter has been locked up in the closet and the kids are running absolutely wild (swinging from light fixtures, overflowing the bathtub onto the floor, all the bookcases have been overturned, etc.)

Yes, Matthew is a common name. In the 1970's and early 80's, it was the #1 name for many years (so was Jennifer, which is MaterDominici's real name).

Yes, Dulcamara is my youngest sister. Her real name is Angela. My other sister doesn't post on any religious forums (let alone Catholic ones), and could use a lot of prayers right now.

I only have one brother, named Justin -- the baby of the family -- who is barely of legal age and spends most of his time playing video games. He's really good at them, I'll give him that! But he also doesn't post at all on any forums of a religious nature. He used to play a LOT of Diablo II, Nightmist, and Starcraft. I think he plays Xbox now.

Trinity's real name is Mary and she is old enough to be my mother (plus or minus). She and I were both on Fisheaters back in 2006. I started CathInfo NOT when I was banned from there (a common myth) but several months earlier, when the Fisheaters equivalent of the Resistance Movement subforum was locked (made "read only"). Back then, Trinity was really into the Jєωιѕн question, etc. as was I, and I wanted to start a forum where such things could be discussed freely. She was one of my founding members, racking up hundreds of posts back when I only have a few members. She really helped CathInfo get off the ground.

I've only spoken with Caminus once by phone; I know that his name is Matthew Snyder. I don't know much else about him. In fact, that's one of the problems with the "Who is Caminus" game -- he could be anybody, since he really doesn't post anything personal on here. He has shared about 0 of himself with the members on here. I'm not criticizing; I know that some people don't like to share their lives with strangers. But it does make it easy to believe he's anyone from Raoul76 to Ladislaus to Vandaler to JoanScholastica.

Let's face it -- once you throw in "He could be super clever, or have schizophrenia, or be posessed, or have a Jekyll and Hyde complex" then aren't ALL bets off?

Anyhow, I think Ladislaus is losing his mind, or he's very, very bored. He's grasping at very thin straws to put together something out of thin air. He could have done that with just about anyone as his "subject".

We're both Irish? Come on. Irish pride and heritage aren't that rare. Both named Matthew? I must ask, Ladislaus -- are you American, or are you a native of wherever Laszlo is a common name? Because over here in the States, Matthew is about as common as Joe or John -- in fact, in our age group, it is actually MORE popular.

Anyhow, Ladislaus seems to be acting like a robot who is entering a feedback loop and his head is spinning around with smoke coming out of his ears. His brain is short-circuiting. There's no better way to explain it.

It's like he's going insane, thinking that all opposition to sedevacantism must necessarily be the same person, otherwise, I don't know, maybe it suggests that individuals are arriving at the same true conclusion? At any rate, Ladislaus seems to be NEEDING another explanation of late. What else could explain this insanity?

As for the Caminus issue, I know he's not going to win any popularity contests, but that's just because he's been in a lot of heated debates on here, and it's very, very easy to commit a fault against charity when debating issues of life or death -- especially eternal life or death. Which of us is without sin?

The kind of faults against charity that require banning are the serious kind. Not just someone who's frustrated with one or two opponents and is attempting to "call it like he sees it". In fact, Caminus seems to have realized that when he PMed Raoul to extend the olive branch. Apparently, the olive branch was shoved somewhere very personal.

It's true, though, that ad hominems never helped any argument. We should all try to remember that going forward. It becomes a huge waste of time for everyone -- the offended, the offender, and the moderator of the forum.

Wow! I don't know what I missed, but I'm going to go look for it now!
I renounce any and all of my former views against what the Church through Pope Leo XIII said, "This, then, is the teaching of the Catholic Church ...no one of the several forms of government is in itself condemned, inasmuch as none of them contains anythi

  • It's the thread where Ladislaus is calling for Caminus' banishment or admonishment.
