It sound to me as if most of what is causing you to lose your faith is the question of origins: evolution vs. creation.

Though it is a Protestant organization, I would suggest you go to the Creation Museum in northern Kentucky if you are able to go. At least, visit their website. What they show concerning scientific research, scientific inquiry, and scientific world-view is spot on. What they say about strictly religious doctrines are clearly wrong, but that is not their focus and such problems can be easily avoided.

Nothing on earth died until Adam and Eve sinned, right?

So... it would follow that the dinosaurs didn't die until after Adam and Eve sinned either.

Hence, human beings were here when the dinosaurs were here too. They didn't die before Adam and Eve were here. They died afterwards.

Do you have an authority for nothing dying on earth until Adam and Eve sinned? An old Hieronymus Bosch painting has Adam and Eve in the garden and a cat with a mouse in its mouth. Adam and Eve had special gifts in the garden that were not intrinsic to their nature. To live forever they had to eat from the Tree of Life.

The wonder of a child at pictures of dinosaurs seems to suggest a genetic memory of them.

What about the wonder of children watching Star Wars, Tele, does that mean that Wookies are real?

I know this will earn me crackpot stripes, but I think many of the accepted types of dinosaur are total fakes. This whole dinosaur business began right around the time they began teaching evolution. Then suddenly in the mid-20th century you get this Flintstones myth about people in loincloths living in caves, hurling rocks at pterodactyls. Sorry, there's no proof for any of that, it's as imaginary as the -- also seemingly real -- world of Star Wars.

You can also see how it damages the faith. It throws off the whole timeline and creates doubts like the one that began this thread. The Adam and Eve origin of humanity doesn't seem easily reconciled with grunting man-animals living in caves. Between Adam and Eve and Abraham, it doesn't make sense for humanity to devolve to some kind of monosyllabic bestial state.

There were probably some giant lizards creeping around in the distant past, around the time of Abraham and after. That's it. Species of animal come and go. But so much of this "science" has proven to be quackery, and it is also big business, much like Barnum and Bailey. Things like the Piltdown Man are proven fakes; there is zero proof for evolution and this is even admitted by the very concept of the "missing link" which means the so-called scientists themselves cannot explain the transition from knuckle-dragging hominid ( which they invented ) to man. That is because there is none, man was created by God in the same form he appears now.

The dinosaur thing is an exaggeration of the truth, just like evolution is an exaggeration of the close resemblance of monkeys to humans. The devil is very clever and has many lies to feed to those who are perishing.
