BXVI, while Pope, definitely not after abdicating, made a speech where he referred to our present time period/what we are seeing as the events outlined in a chapter of Apocalypse.

I *cannot* find the chapter, quote, context, or anything about this event I remember...

Does anyone remember this? He mentioned this opinion very matter-of-factly in some public speech.

I have really tried to find this...

I remember him saying some provocative things in Salt of the Earth before he was pope. There are some threads on the forum that mention the book. Go to Google and paste the following:

I'm not promoting it, but I bet you'd find your answer there. Looks like they followed every word/move he made while pope.

There are several possibilities:

1) The closest is the visit to the Marian Square in Rome on Dec 8 2011 (here)

Possibly the Fatima trip in 2010

2) On the plane there (the last response) (here)

3) At the Mass on May 13 (last 2 paragraphs) (here)

You're welcome. I read it at the time and I recalled where I read it but googled it quickly and found the text again.
