Although many of you are already in the know, I wanted to make the rest of you aware of the natural disaster which has struck Minnesota in the form of catastrophic flooding over the past two weeks.  Winona has been directly affected.  Six people are now dead in the surrounding area -- two are whom are Mrs. Mehren's ( i.e. Seminary secretary) next-door neighbors.

The cities have been evacuated with the aid of the U.S. National Guard and St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary is working alongside the Red Cross to help in whatever way possible.  The seminarians on summer apostolate are working around the clock.  This week, they are assembling in teams to enter downtown Winona and lower Stockton Hill to aid in the clean-up efforts.
