  • I don't know much about that stuff, but it terrified me to think about it, then on the side they had this one which was much worse.

My question is now, can these people take back their bargain and save their soul?

    Please pray for my soul.

I've heard some people say that he meant that he made a deal with God. I highly doubt this because, really, has ANYONE made a deal with Christ  in exchange for worldly fame and pleasure? I dont see it happening. No one becomes famous in this day and age without selling his/her soul to the Prince of the World.

  • He made a deal with the devil. He said he sold his soul to the "unseen ruler of the world". It's clear that Bob Dylan was not talking about God.

  • I should have mentioned that his new band emblem is a version of the Eye of Horus. I couldn't find a pic of it anywhere to post here.

  • Yes, he did, and so did Katy Perry, and she says it very frankly.

  • Since you mentioned a pop star, I heard Lady Gaga (  :barf: ) when she was young used to pray to "him" (H.is I.nfernal M.ajesty?) every night asking him to let her die young and famous in exchange for her soul. Considering her fruits I doubt that's tabloid trash.

  • Kayne West admits he sold his soul too. Listen at about 1:14 in this video.

BEWARE BAD LANGUAGE IN THESE VIDEOS.

This song is by Eminem and it's him having a conversation with a demon, basically explaining how it transpired that he sold his soul. (Incidentally it was a bonus track on the CD he released called "Relapse" [how appropriate. Tried to get out of his little 'deal' and he 'relapsed.' ]) "Song" is called "My Darling."

Numerous references in his songs, talking about selling his soul to the devil are here. Tupac Shakur. It seems that he was trying to get out of it from what I've heard about him.

There are more. It's not hard to look for them.

  • Just listen to the immoral counter culture portrayed in their "art" and "music", is it really any suprise that these, "stars" are the tools of Satan in corrupting the people (especially the youth) of the world?

I was a Dylanite until I discovered the heart-breaking truth about him.  It is much the same with nearly everyone who is famous in the art world, very sad.

Many years ago he explained how he wrote his songs.  His explanation was something about plucking it out of a ring, but it was an unsatisfactory explanation and bleak.

Pablo Picasso is another one into the dark arts.

  • I don't buy for a second that Bob Dylan made a deal with the devil. He was talking about fulfilling the will of God. This is supported by his work. His songs, including those up to the present day, are absolutely suffused in Biblical imagery and yearning for God. For example:

    &

    Gotta Serve Somebody

    &

    &

    Thunder on the Mountain

    &

    &

    Ring Them Bells

And listen to these famous comments of his to a crowd:

Many, many more examples could be provided.

    Also see:

    &

Yes, I know Fr. Barron is Novus Ordo, but his words here are true.

    And see these articles:

Bob Dylan Is Not a Leftist

    &

Dylan calls himself a "true believer"

    &

On Bob Dylan and the Christian Faith

    &

    Dylan a Christian

All of this is not to show that Bob Dylan will in fact be saved, but to show that the accusation of him making a deal with the devil is pure nonsense.

“The highest form of song is prayer.”

  • Jit, do you know why he referenced the rainman like the other ones that have ADMITTEDLY sold their souls?

    and

Warning! Nasty language. Bob Dylan's reference and Janice Joplin's reference to the "rainman" is in here too.

  • I don't know much about Dylan's personal life, but it's very possible that he was at one point a Christian and then his religion just fell apart. Elvis was supposedly a Christian who went nuts because of all the sleeping pills he took.

  • Im aware of his religious references, but it still doesn't explain why he chose to use the Eye of Horus for his new emblem. Granted, he may be a fool who adopted it at his manager's advice that it looked cool.
