I think the victims are just waiting until after the "normalization"
because then it will be "normal" to make accusations, and they'll
have a better chance of settling out of court.  Plus, if they were
to come out now, they'd be shouted down by Accordistas who
are gung-ho followers of the Great One, who can do no wrong.

    This is a good point.

Even in the novus ordo, priests going on buggering sprees is very rare.

But the novus ordo owns a lot of property and they have a lot of money stashed away in secret accounts and they have deep pockets.  So the lawsuits are jury jackpot attempts.

  • Yes, there have unfortunately  been SSPX priests accused of and guilty of child abuse. Fr. Carlos Urrutigoity and Fr. Benedict Van Der Putten immediately come to mind.

Although these two priests left the SSPX of their own will, they were nonetheless ordained in SSPX seminaries.

Here is the case of Fr. Carlos Urrutigoity, who was a former professor at the seminary in Winona, albeit briefly, during the good years when Bishop Williamson was rector:

    http://jloughnan.tripod.com/urrutig.htm

On Fr. Benedict Van Der Putten:

" I once knew an SSPX priest, Fr. Benedict Vander Putten, who I thought was on fire with the love of God. Turns out he was on fire for the love of underaged girls. Need I go on?"

    Father Benedict Van Der Putten

    San Francisco Faith
    November, 2005

FATHER BENEDICT VAN DER PUTTEN, a priest formerly of the Society of St. Pius X, has been relieved of his faculties by Pope Benedict XVI, according to an announcement issued by the chancellor of the diocese of Marquette in August. Van der Putten, who, beginning in 1995, had been retreat master at the society's St. Aloysius Retreat House in Los Gatos, left the Society of St. Pius X in 2000 to seek reconciliation with Rome. In December 2003, the bishop of Scranton, Pennsylvania, where Van der Putten had gone to seek regularization, announced that he had refused incardination to Van der Putten "because of the seriousness of his admitted sɛҳuąƖ misconduct." According to the diocese of Marquette, Van der Putten, "at one time a holder of a celebret from the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei, has been dismissed from the clerical state by decree of His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI after being accused of sɛҳuąƖ abuse of minors." Van der Putten reportedly is currently living in Hawaii.

Regrettably, no Traditionalist group has been immune from the scourge of the accusations of child abuse, whether they be Ecclesia Dei, SSPX, or Sedevecantist.
It is a problem after all that St. Peter Damian faced during the 1000s.

Nonetheless, the SSPX is superior than any other Catholic organization in cracking down on perverse priests, as they tried to warn the diocese of Fr. Carlos Urrutigoity.

  • I thought Urrutigoity was expelled from the SSPX?
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

  • Urrigooty was initially shuffled around the sspx despite the allegations.
"Be kind; do not seek the malicious satisfaction of having discovered an additional enemy to the Church... And, above all, be scrupulously truthful. To all, friends and foes alike, give that serious attention which does not misrepresent any opinion, does not distort any statement, does not mutilate any quotation. We need not fear to serve the cause of Christ less efficiently by putting on His spirit". (Vermeersch, 1913).

He was eventually but it took awhile.

    That is sick.

That many corrupted priests...and that's just for last names starting with "V"!

The devil is having a field day.

The thing to remember: all priests (age 20 - 80) came from a world steeped in corruption, immorality, and obsession with ###.

In other words, they came from the same world as the rest of us. Not to mention they have the same human temptations (concupiscence) as the rest of us.

Not only did they come from the same world, but they CONTINUE TO LIVE IN the same corrupt world.

And they have more attention from the devil than the average layman.

This is why we must pray for our priests.

  • Accused?  Bp. W. implied, not stated the Society is not entirely free and clear in this area.  His Excellency then stated such is rare for the SSPX.  This possibly is in an interview given in
2010 when the Bishop was imprisoned in the Attic of London.
:stare:Please be careful not to start a rumor.  The lives of innocent people have been ruined by false allegations of sex abuse, just as surely as the innocent have been ruined by actual abusers.  God holds the purveyors of gossip guilty in proportion to the nature of the alleged sin.

I should have read the new postings before hitting the reply button! Article was just disgusting.  Who says perverts don't actively recruit victims?  I hope this man repents before he dies.  What became of his victims?  They should tell young seminarians to punch the lights out of anyone who tries to corrupt them and to report it later.  That's what I'd do if a sicko entered my room in the night.  Awful!

It was disturbing and surprising to see so many priests ordained prior to VII.

I think it's important to remember that pre-vii, there were already a lot of ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ, modernist, and freemasonic infiltrators in the Church.  Those who followed the Archbishop would have been the true traditionalists.  Therefore, I would not expect to see much abuse in post-vii traditional societies.

At one time there were monasteries and convents full of contemplative religious who did nothing but pray, often for the souls of priests and bishops. They are almost gone now, and the few orders of religious that are left are often comprised of mannish nuns who wear lime green pants suits instead of habits... our prayers are more critical than ever.
"Let us thank God for having called us to His holy faith. It is a great gift, and the number of those who thank God for it is small."
