If the initial trend continues, you're going to wake up one day wishing you had
the good old days of B16 vestments - at least he used some of the trappings of
tradition. It's looking like under Francis the pretense of customary designs is
going right out the window. By the time he's thrown down a few ceremonies
without them, "masonic or judaic symbols" might be the least of your worries!

For the first time since the Great Schism - gosh. How many years is that?

Let's see. First, B16 pulls a first-time-in-600-years-abdication-and-first-time-
EVER-for-feeling-too-old-for-the-job, and now his successor pulls a first-time-
in-949-years-attendance-by-a-schismatic.

If he could only have held out for another 20 years, he'd be on par with the
age of Methuselah, "for he lived 969, and he died and went to heaven, Lord,
in a due time."

Can you imagine? "Bless me Father for I have missed Mass for 949 years..."
