Title: Happy Amazon Prime Day 2
Post by: Matthew on July 13, 2022, 02:01:10 AM
Today is Day 2 of "Amazon Prime Day" -- basically a modern-day version of the old "Christmas in July" promotion to drum up some business during the slowest month of the year.

I ordered some pruning shears to "restock" and/or replace some that get used all the time. For what it's worth, all of them were on sale.

Some say Amazon is playing with their prices a bit (to make today's discounts look more impressive), but you are still getting a legit lower/sale price.
It's just not as big of a discount as they want you to think.
Probably the same thing they do every Christmas season...

If you shop at Amazon, and there is something you had your eye on, today might be a good day to pull the trigger and buy it. You might save a couple bucks.

Even in the past, the only REAL deals that were somewhat impressive were on their own products:  Kindle, Alexa devices, Fire TV, etc.

I bought a product the day before prime day.
Prime day, it turned into a "prime day special" and was $5 MORE than what I paid the day before.

Yep.  I recall one time a few years ago that I was interested in buying a vacuum cleaner that they had a Kohl's.  But I saw signs up in the store that there was going to be a store-wide 20% off sale in a couple days.  So I waited and came back when the sale started.  Vacuum cleaner was the SAME price, but they simply marked up the "original price" to where it was 20% higher than it had been before.
