I realize I never announced any rule on this, because it wasn't a problem until now.
But someone could treat CathInfo like their own personal blog/magazine, of which THEY are the editor -- they get to decide what hundreds of members are going to see today.
I DON'T THINK SO.
You can post as much as you like, but you see, one is normally limited by TIME and ABILITY TO COMPOSE that much coherent text. Eventually your mind gets tired, or you need to be elsewhere. That prevents the forum from being TAKEN OVER by one or two individuals.
But if you could post empty content -- cut & paste, the word "bump" and such -- you could strategically put whatever topic you want on the front page, burying EVERYTHING ELSE and making the forum essentially unusable.
So getting to the point -- excessive bumping will be met by TEMPORARY BANS and removal of many/most of the bumps in question.
What is excessive? Try me. If you think it might be considered excessive, then DON'T DO IT. I get to decide what is excessive. That should keep everyone well behaved.
"Bumping" old threads should be RARE and FOR A GOOD REASON each and every time. The chance of you happening to have a "good reason" for 7 threads within an hour? Dubious. Real dubious.
"Rules", "Well behaved" -- yes, it sounds like an elementary school, doesn't it? That's not a coincidence. It's how moderating this forum feels to me sometimes.
