  •   We have a persian poem, which is orginialy translated from german and made a poem again. This poem used to be popular here. Have you heard of it?
      It is it's english translation:

     A mother's heart

a sweet heart sent a message to her lover,
That "your mother is at war with me,
whenever she sees me she frowns,
with her angry looks she she wounds my little heart,
as long as yor mother lives,
everything will be bitter to me and you,
I will not unite my heart with yours
until you stabb her in her chest.
If you want to have me with you,
    you must go this hour
    without any fear or hesitation
to wound her chest and drow out that stony heart
and bring it to me as it is still warm and bleeding
so that my heart finds some peace"
That foolish lover, that impure and shameless man
forgot the respect owed to a mother,
    intoxiated with wine and smokes,
he went to his mother, threw her on the ground
stabbed her chest and drove out her heart.
when he rose up to go to his beloved's house
with his mother's heart in his hand like an orange,
he fell on the ground and scratched his elbow a little.
then that warm heart which was still lively,
fell from the hands of that incivil man,
when he rose up from the ground
and tried to pick it up again,
he saw a whispering sound coming out of that bleeding heart:
"woe to me, my son's hand is wounded, alas he has dashed
    his food against a stone"

  • It does sound familiar, but I can´t remember exactly where I read it. Do you know who the German author was?

It is a moving poem. Thank you!

  •   I googled it, it may be scheiler (sp?) or Brisbane or Richepin.
All we know is that a persian poet named Iraj Mirza translated it and made a farsi poem out of it.

  • That is a translation of the famous poem "Ein Mutterherz Ist An Den Kalten, Harten Stein Zerschmettert" by Konrad von Augenwinkel, a 16th century poet from Swabia.

Okay, I made that up.  I have no idea who wrote the poem.

By Scheiler you probably mean Schiller, Spouse of Jesus.  He had an Illuminist philosophy like many German poets and playwrights and philosophers.
Readers: Please IGNORE all my postings here. I was a recent convert and fell into errors, even heresy for which hopefully my ignorance excuses. These include rejecting the "rhythm method," rejecting the idea of "implicit faith," and being brieflfy quasi-Jansenist. I also posted occasions of sins and links to occasions of sin, not understanding the concept much at the time, so do not follow my links.
