Science to liberals is just an all-powerful word that represents everything they believe or want to be true. The word allows them to attack groups and ideas they perceive false like religion, the pro-life movement, and traditional marriage. It has nothing to do with the actual meaning of science since their opponents don't deny the necessity of science. This is why all their science icons are showmen like Bill Nye and Neil DeGrasse Tyson. This not a pitch to bring people to science but rather bring people to an ideology --- their ideology. One can certainly see the parallels between this form of science and religion.
.
Bill Nye isn't even a scientist! He's just an actor reading the script written by others, and hosting guests like a game show. It's a bit like "The Big Bang Theory" with a little less slapstick.
.
The article linked above has very little to do with science. It points out how under the appearance of science, and hiding behind it as a curtain to keep them from being wholly visible, environmentalists have built up a false religion of earth-worship and quasi-paganism complete with all the earmarks of the world's religions, especially Catholicism.
.
To elucidate the point, Mr. Larabell identifies the details corresponding to these categories of kind:
- Eden,
- Salvation/Heaven,
- Atonement/Indulgences,
- Church,
- Holy Days and Hymns,
- Sacred Writings,
- Priests and Prophets,
- Official Doctrine,
- Orthodoxy
- and Heresy
Each item has its examples, and it makes for compelling reading. It seems to me that Catholic priests today should become familiar with these principles because you can't read about them in the MSM or even in the Bible, that is, unless you take a fresh look at the Apocalypse of St. John!
