I wrote a program this evening to automatically remove the ignores of any CathInfo member who hasn't logged on in 60 days.
Since the ignore count is public, it makes sense that the people you see on CathInfo are actually doing the ignoring -- not some member who hasn't been here for 2 months.

Excellent idea.
-
I think they should be done away with altogether.

Even better idea.
-
Ignores should be done away with. It serves no purpose.

I now have zero ignores. I can now guess who was ignoring me and I feel proud. It was Father Cekada, his perverted defenders, and sockpuppets.
-
-
Goshdarnit who's ignoring me?
-
I would be very curious myself to know who the nine people are that have me on ignore. Of the regulars, I think Elizabeth is the only one. Whenever I type something under her comments it tends to go unnoticed. Everyone else responds.
If the program has gone into effect, my ignore count should have gone down. Littlerose and Boniface are two who haven't signed on for 60 days who must have had me on ignore.
-
Sweet!
-
I don't really want to be the one to say anything because people will probably think I have personal motives... But Matthew, if the whole purpose of the ignore feature is to be able to block those who irritate us, why does the ignore COUNT have to be visible?
-
Raoul, why do you even care?
-
Why do I care who is ignoring me? So I can put them on my list and hold undying grudges, why else?
-
That's sarcasm by the way.

You're not on my ignore list Raoul, never worry!

All banned people to date had their ignores removed upon banning, so LR and Boniface would have dropped from your list long ago.

I dont care if I have 1 or 40 ignores. I dont have a problem with the function.
-
Me either. I'm used to it anyhow.

Heehee. Not anymore.

I don't know.

I'm surprised you have an ignore.
-
I just ran the function again -- this time with the timeout set to THIRTY DAYS.
17 ignores dropped off the face of the planet.
It makes sense that if you're going to be ignored, the ignorer needs to be an active CathInfo member. None of this "ignore and run" stuff.

Thanks!
By the way, this proves that people were signing on just to put me on ignore. It doesn't help my paranoia when my paranoid suspicions are proved right... As they usually are!

!
I had zero ignores until I replied to Raoul in a post. Just like that!!!!!!! I got 5 ignores :fryingpan:
-
You are joking, right?
-
I got my first ignore today, so now I really feel like a full established member here. :alcohol:
I sort of feel like maybe I made someone THINK!
-
Not that I care, but since this thread came up, I noticed my only ignore is gone. I kinda figured it would disappear when Matthew activated this new function. I noticed I RIGHT AFTER I said Gladius was prudent, so I knew it was an SGG member.
Cant you SGG cooks do better than that? What do yall think yall are going to accomplish? :roll-laugh1:

You should think of it as a badge, you started to make some sense to someone and they felt uncomfortable!
-
I now have 2 ignores and I do not even post that often. Heh!
