  • I think the implication here is that Trad Catholics are better people or something slone those lines, excuse me if I' wrong, on account of having kept the faith. I'm not so sure, I've been very fortunate and blessed to *stumble* onto what I know, since that's the only way to describe how I came to learn the errors of V2. We've all been very fortunate whether by the family we have or the people we've known, all blessings given by God in their own way.
Now I'm not some modernist trying to argue in favour of BOD or "apostates go to heaven" or anything like that, but I don't think that most non-Trads and/or lapsed Catholics are maliciously ignorant by choice, that is ignoring hard truths. I think they're misled and misguided. It's one of the hardest times since pre-Constantine to keep the faith.
The formal heretics in the Church and the heathenous Jews controlling our governments and media have blood on their hands, and are guilty for the damnation of millions of souls. While of course all who are damned are complicit and responsible for their damnation, I still see it as a form of entrapment by the Synagogue of Satan who take delight in sending what would otherwise be decent people to Hell.
Actually, whether one is born into the faith or stumbles onto it at some point in their life, the right answer is that we, that is, each of us as individuals who have the faith, aka the mind of the Church, have it because we've made a very deliberate choice, in spite of what is happening in the Church. It is entirely up to us, each one of us, individually. The choice to make is entirely ours, utilizing our free will to make that choice. I think it's likely that many people are faced with making that choice many times during this life.

Those who stumble onto it, corresponded to the graces offered to seek the truth, similar to those who have kept the faith they were born into. Same as those who were born into it, left it, then came back. Same as those who have or will persevere in the faith till their last breath will have done. They all have one thing in particular in common - namely, they all corresponded to the graces God offers each and every human creature to embrace and grow in the faith.

What this means is that all those individuals of whatever stripe who do not have, or no longer have, or preach contrary to the mind of the Church, do so by deliberate choice, they are guilty of rejecting those same graces, and in eternity, they will have no one to blame except themself, not their priest, not their parents, not the pope - no one but themself.

For a small gain they travel far; for eternal life many will scarcely lift a foot from the ground. - Thomas A Kempis

And while I can accept that we may be in a period of history where the Church has defaulted in its mission, I really cannot get my head around how God can redeem the world and give it the Church to save souls and then allow things to get to a point where the entire hierarchy can not merely fail in their duty to teach, but actively teach people that they can hope that Hell is empty and God in his infinite Mercy finds some way to save the vast majority of men.  The period has gone on so long now that an entire generation of people have lived in a post-redemption world without a church to help them save their soul.
All men are born with the natural law on their hearts.  All men are given actual graces every second of their life, to follow their consciences or not.  If they are TRYING to follow the 10 commandments, God will lead them to His true religion, regardless of what's going on (or not going on) in rome.  Nowadays, most people don't care about the natural law, so they could care less about spiritual truths.  God does not cast his pearls before swine.

On the other hand, the corruption of the hierarchy is a punishment for sin.  The adults of the 60s rejected the Faith, accepted V2, and their children and grandchildren are suffering the consequences of having a lukewarm Church.  Thus, the baby boomer generation lived drug-filled and immoral lives, while their millenial children are spiritually worse off, headed for paganism, witchcraft and atheism.

Yet, (in my opinion) God in His infinite wisdom is using new-rome's protestantized message of "God's mercy" to still draw all those whose lives have been filled with sin and pain, who grew up with no religion and/or a horrible family life.  While new-rome's agenda in all of this is to avoid talking about sin and "harsh things" (in an attempt to keep attendance up and the collection plates full and to build a one-world religion), I believe God is offering the world a last-ditch chance at His mercy and forgiveness (just like He did to real Catholics at Fatima).  So, yes, we true Catholics are scandalized at the lukewarmness and "easy" approach of new-rome to the world, yet for those who are non-catholic or non-religious, who have been slaves to sin most of their lives and who are weighed down with regrets and guilt, their hearts need to be softened by God's mercy so that they will accept His love.  Only God can bring forth good from evil and if any good could come from new-rome's protestantism, it is this.

  • No disagreement from me here. Yet in spite of all that, my question to you is, how is it that the mind of the Church is in you (and generally speaking, all trads) and presumably those in your care, in your home and all that you do?

What is it that separates you (and generally speaking, all trads) from all those within the modern church? How is it that you are able to have / keep the mind of the Church at all, let alone hand it down to your children, all the while the modern church seeks to destroy it?
I suppose because we are historically consistent and since it is impossible for faith, doctrine, to change in a revealled religion, to mean something very different than it used to mean.  Thus there are only two possibilities.  The Catholic Church made false claims from the start or Trads are right.  If modernists are right then God gave men lies for some major portion of 1900 years.  Even longer if you start with the 10 Commanments.
Handing it down is very difficult.  I have not seen most Trads do that very effectively.  Many of my Trad peers from teenage years have disaapeared.  Since I roam around London and the South East I would recognise them if they were at any Trad mass.
I keep my kids on the straight and narrow by insisting on only the important things and showing them how people without belief turn out after a adulthood and marriage.  They know their parents and family is happier than their friends' families.  Cause effect.
But another few decades of this and I fear the worst.

You'd have a very hard time getting baptised on the Titanic I'd imagine. The water would be no issue, but finding Priests and keeping them from falling off would be quite the other.

One does not need to be a priest to baptize, anyone can baptize in an emergency. The majority of the men stayed onboard and the ship took a while to sink. If I were there I'd be telling the people to convert to save their souls and baptizing by the truckload. Also, many of the survivors and the family members of the dead and survivors would later convert, which is what I really meant. All catastrophes bring conversions.
